Coming off one of the darkest days in WWE history, Graham "GSM" Matthews welcomes RJ Marceau back to WrestleRant Radio to pay tribute to the late, great Howard Finkel before breaking down the Wednesday's shocking round of releases that included Kurt Angle, Rusev, Lio Rush, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, among many others. The duo discuss whose departure was the most shocking, who could have been utilized better, the current climate, fickle fans, where they'd like to see the talent end up and if the company could have afforded to keep them.

In the second half of the episode, GSM airs his exclusive interview with the voice of All Elite Wrestling, Jim Ross! Their in-depth conversation covers his new book Under the Black Hat, what's he's been watching while in quarantine, when fans can expect him back on Dynamite, doing commentary in an empty arena, signing Chris Jericho and how he's done on commentary thus far, the creative freedom AEW stars have compared to WWE, how he would grade himself behind the booth in AEW and working alongside Tony Schiavone and Excalibur, AEW's next big stars, the signings of Brodie Lee and "Broken" Matt Hardy, if the recently-released Revival are next, why he felt he needed to leave WWE, his thoughts on The Undertaker vs. AJ Styles from WrestleMania 36, his goals going forward, and much more!

Friday Nights Are Forgotten Once More (WWE SmackDown Review - April 10, 2020)

It was the post-WrestleMania edition of SmackDown on Friday night, but it certainly didn't feel like it. Graham "GSM" Matthews wastes no time in addressing WWE's decision to continue taping television live from the Performance Center for the foreseeable future, how the episode fell flat, Sheamus and Jeff Hardy "returning" despite only being gone for a month, Shinsuke Nakamura stepping up to Braun Strowman and who Strowman's first feud as Universal Champion will be with, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross defending their WWE Women's Tag Team Championship against The Kabuki Warriors in a WrestleMania rematch, why Elias competing in the men's Money in the Bank Ladder match isn't such a bad idea, Dolph Ziggler disposing of Tucker, why the SmackDown Tag Team Championship picture feels like Groundhog Day, The Forgotten Sons getting called up to the main roster, Tamina setting her sights on the SmackDown Women's Championship and the latest with Sasha Banks and Bayley, and more!

With it being a WrestleMania review too big for just one hour, RJ Marceau returns to WrestleRant Radio to help Graham "GSM" Matthews break down both nights of WWE WrestleMania 36! After giving their quick thoughts on the Brawl for All episode of Dark Side of the Ring, they get into Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross regaining the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship and what it means for the future of the division, Elias beating King Cobin, if Shayna Baszler failing to win the Raw Women's Championship at this point harms her and upcoming challengers for Becky Lynch, Daniel Bryan battling Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship, the SmackDown Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Ladder match and why Ladder matches aren't the same without a crowd, why Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins was one of the better bouts of the night, Braun Strowman capturing the Universal Championship from Goldberg and if it was the right call, when we can expect Roman Reigns back, and how the Boneyard match between The Undertaker and AJ Styles lived up to the hype.

In their complete review of WrestleMania 36 Night 2, the duo discuss the pros and cons of Charlotte Flair reclaiming the NXT Women's Championship, if it had anything to do with Rhea Ripley's work visa reportedly expiring, Aleister Black vs. Bobby Lashley and WWE's inability to create new stars, Otis finally getting the girl, the issue with Edge vs. Randy Orton and why their Last Man Standing match should have been what Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa from Wednesday's NXT was, Bianca Belair making her main roster debut and what her ceiling for success is, Bayley retaining her SmackDown Women's Championship and where her story with Sasha Banks is headed, the masterpiece that was the Firefly Fun House between Bray Wyatt and John Cena, Drew McIntyre fulfilling his destiny by becoming the new WWE Champion, overall thoughts on WrestleMania, if it should be a two-day event again next year, and much more!

It may not feel like due to under the current conditions, but it's WrestleMania 36 weekend and history is about to made one way or another! As always, Graham "GSM" Matthews is joined by the returning RJ Marceau in addition to Alexis DiGiacomo for this super special episode of WrestleRant Radio to preview the pay-per-view and offer predictions for every advertised match on the card! They're talking the two men's tag team title matches and changes that had to be made due to unfortunate/unforeseen circumstances, if Otis will walk out of WrestleMania with Mandy Rose by his side, if The Kabuki Warriors' record-setting reign as WWE Women's Tag Team Champions is about to end, Daniel Bryan challenging Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship, Elias clashing with King Corbin, Aleister Black battling Bobby Lashley for no apparent reason, if Bayley will escape the Fatal 5-Way elimination match still the SmackDown Women's champion, and next week's TakeOver-themed edition of NXT.

The trio is also analyzing Kevin Owens battling Seth Rollins, if Rhea Ripley is in jeopardy of losing her NXT Women's Championship to Charlotte Flair, why the AJ Styles vs. Undertaker storyline has exceeded expectations and why Styles won't lose anything in defeat, "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt and John Cena rekindling their WrestleMania rivalry, if Edge can afford to lose in his first singles match back versus Randy Orton, Shayna Baszler vying for Becky Lynch's Raw Women's Championship, Goldberg's scheduled Universal Championship defense against Roman Reigns getting changed and who Goldberg might be facing instead, if WWE should pull the trigger on Drew McIntyre beating Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship or if they should hold off, favorite in-person 'Mania memories, and much more!
