"Jungle" Jack Perry def. "Speedball" Mike Bailey in a Continental Classic Gold League MatchThis was another instance of both men being babyfaces and the crowd not really having an incentive to cheer for one guy over the other. Bailey had more momentum coming into this contest, which is why I was surprised to see him win. That said, it's worth remembering that Perry took the injured Darby Allin's spot, which leads me to believe Allin would've beaten Bailey here. Nonetheless, they had a nice match, even though the crowd was a tad quiet for it and the finish felt abrupt. Eddie Kingston def. Nathan CruzCruz unsuccessfully teamed with Grizzled Young Veterans on Tuesday's special edition of Dark, hence why Grizzled Young Veterans were with Cruz here. This was your standard squash with Kingston dominating and winning within two minutes. We didn't hear from him afterward, so this felt like a waste of time, but I guess it was designed to get him back on track after failing to capture the AEW World Championship from Samoa Joe on last week's Dynamite. Alex Windsor def. AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone to Win the RevPro Undisputed British Women's Championship (AEW TBS Championship Was Not Defended)This was an open challenge from Mone, who said she was issuing it to any of the "locals." Windsor is an England native, so technically, she counts, even though she's already on the AEW roster. I'm curious what will happen when it comes time for Mone to lose her other independent titles. I enjoyed their original encounter more from a few months ago, but this was good and Windsor winning was the correct outcome. Mone's downfall continues. Kevin Knight def. AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada in a Continental Classic Gold League Match (Non-Title)I figured this would be an easy win for Okada, who previously lost to Kyle Fletcher at the start of the Continental Classic, but I really should have known that Knight might pull out the upset here seeing as how unpredictable this entire tournament has been so far (and that's refreshing). The match itself was entertaining, yet it never hit that next gear for me, perhaps because the crowd was clearly tired from the Dynamite and Collision tapings they had to sit through up to this point. Overall ShowThis aired separately from the first half of Holiday Bash edition of Collision that aired immediately following Dynamite on Wednesday, but even on its own, it was still a thumbs-up show. The two Continental Classic matches were well wrestled with unexpected outcomes, Windsor's title win was notable and Kingston vs. Cruz was short and sweet. Simple stuff from Collision on a rare Saturday afternoon.
