AEW World Champion Jon Moxley Addressed CopeI was excited for the promos Moxley would cut when he went heel a few months ago because I've always felt he's more of a natural heel, but most of his mic work since the heel turn has been cryptic crap that hasn't amounted to anything. This was one of his more focused promos addressing Cope and next week's tag team match in Australia, though it was weird he barely brought up Jay White (who will be teaming with Cope). The Undisputed Kingdom (Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong) def. Shane Taylor Promotions (The Infantry and Shane Taylor) and AEW TNT Champion Daniel Garcia, "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard & "Cool Hand" Angelo Parker in a Three-Way Trios MatchThis three-way tag team feud in recent weeks hasn't done anything for me, personally, but at least the matches have been good. This one in particular was nicely paced and had some enjoyable action. It wasn't officially billed as a number one contender's match for the AEW World Trios Championship, but that's basically what it was. Undisputed Kingdom will get their shot on Wednesday's Dynamite. The Death Riders haven't defended those titles in three months, by the way. Bandido def. Bryan KeithBandido picked up where he left off upon returning on Dynamite by resuming his rivalry with Chris Jericho and his cronies. Jericho putting a bounty out on Bandido is slightly goofy, but it was fitting for Keith to attempt to collect on it since he was known for being a bounty hunter before linking up with Jericho. This was a very fun match that the crowd was way hotter for than I was expecting. La Faccion Ingobernable (Rush, Dralistico and The Beast Mortos) def. Ares Alexander, Jay Alexander and Brick SavageIt's worth noting that LFI didn't have Jake Roberts with them here, so that alliance may already be over. Oh well. This was a total squash as it should have been. Komander attempted to make the save afterward but needed an assist from the returning Hologram, who had been out injured since October. It looks like he's picking up where he left off since his last match was against Mortos and he received a pretty loud reaction from the crowd. AEW TBS Champion/NJPW Strong Women's Champion/RevPro Undisputed British Women's Champion Mercedes Mone Interrupted Harley Cameron's Halftime Harley in Houston ConcertAs I've said several times, Cameron may not be my cup of tea, but there's no denying that she's managed to get herself over and is super popular right now, so it was only logical for her to get the shot against Mone at Grand Slam: Australia. The build has been well done and this was an excellently-executed angle to make it official. Cameron won't win, of course, but I'm sure she'll look credible in defeat. Plus, it's refreshing to see Mone involved in an actual story for a change. ROH World Tag Team Champion and ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion Dustin Rhodes def. Izzy JamesRhodes will be facing MJF on Wednesday's Dynamite, so this served as a quick warm-up for him before then. I'm glad they kept it short and sweet. Rhodes didn't say anything different than he did on Dynamite this past week, but it was a passionate promo, nonetheless. Rhodes really should lose his Ring of Honor titles if he's going to be more of a mainstay on AEW TV at this point. Thunder Rosa def. Penelope FordI gave up on a potential push for Ford a long time ago, so it's difficult to care about her these days, especially she always loses to the bigger stars. That was once again the case here, but it was a quality contest while it lasted. Megan Bayne attacked Rosa afterward. Rosa is the perfect first feud for Megan Bayne given Rosa's level of experience. We'll see if Bayne rises to the occasion. AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May def. Shay KarMichael (Non-Title)This was billed as a "Glamorous Exhibition" match. May beat KarMichael almost immediately, but the focus was on Luther returning afterward and distracting May so Toni Storm could replace KarMichael in the ring and get some shots in on May. Luther played his role well and the whole angle was great. This feud continues to the best thing going into Grand Slam: Australia, where I expect Storm to get her belt back. Kyle Fletcher def. Mark BriscoeBriscoe was the only person to beat Fletcher during the first round of last year's Continental Classic, so it made sense for them to run it back at some point. I'm not sure why this had to headline the show considering there were no stakes, but they made it a main event-worthy match by putting forth a hell of an effort and delivering a strong match. Once Fletcher is done with Will Ospreay, he should be setting his sights on the AEW TNT Championship. Overall ShowComing off an above-average edition of Dynamite (by recent standards) on Wednesday night, Collision followed up accordingly and delivered an above-average episode as well. Props to the crowd for being lively all night long. The wrestling was entertaining, feuds were furthered, and there was additional hype for next week's Dynamite and Grand Slam. Collision is typically skippable, but it's a treat whenever they make the show worthwhile like it was this week.
