Kevin Knight def. El ClonIt's hilarious how El Clon is basically floating around with nothing to do until Hologram returns from injury, and I've heard no update as to when that will be. He's a talented dude, but it's impossible to care about his character because all he does is lose most of the time. Nonetheless, he and Knight had an enjoyable opener and it gave Knight a rebound victory after losing twice on Dynamite last week. AEW World Trios Champion Mark Davis def. KomanderWell, this was random. The match was well wrestled and whatnot, but it felt like an excuse to kill television time. I know The Don Callis Family are defending the AEW World Trios Championship at Revolution, but Komander isn't among the challengers. On the bright side, Davis has lost a lot on AEW TV this year, so at least he finally won on his own for a change. Triangle of Madness (AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla and Sisters of Sin) def. Karisma, Tatevik and Viva VanThis only existed to establish Triangle of Madness as a dominant force ahead of Thekla's two-out-of-three falls match with Kris Statlander at Revolution. Speaking of Statlander, she emerged afterward to willingly take shots from Thekla, I guess to prove she's able endure punishment. It was weird because their bout won't be No Disqualification to my knowledge, but it was better than doing nothing else to promote their upcoming rubber matchup. The Demand (AEW National Champion Ricochet and GOA) def. Bang Bang Gang (Austin Gunn, Ace Austin and Juice Robinson)Ricochet will be defending his AEW National Championship in a 21-man Blackjack Battle Royal on the Revolution Zero Hour pre-show and I have to imagine all of Bang Bang Gang will be a part of it. Perhaps that was confirmed and I just missed it. Regardless, this was a solid six-man tag team match to put heat on the heels, including with their post-match beatdown afterward and Ricochet's promo. Lena Kross def. Mina ShirakawaIt wouldn't be a Shirakawa match in AEW if she wasn't taking the loss. Good grief. Obviously, it was way more important for Kross to win here considering she'll be challenging Willow Nightingale for the AEW TBS Championship on the Revolution Zero Hour pre-show (as well as the AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship later on in the night), but Shirakawa just can't catch a break apparently. This served as a successful showcase for Kross. Andrade El Idolo def. Mascara DoradaThis was an easy edition of Collision to sit through, but if there's any one match to check out, it would undoubtedly be this one. This was terrific stuff, as you'd expect from these two. They worked a fun pace and the action was excellent. We even got Andrade and Bandido interacting afterward before they face off at Revolution, and we're in for a treat if that match is anywhere near as great as this was. Overall ShowThere was definitely less to Collision this week than usual, at least from a quantity standpoint of what we got in the ring, but I actually thought that made it a stronger show. There was a clear focus on Revolution, and although none of these matches had important stakes, the action was entertaining and most of these people will be represented on the card, so it left me looking forward to tomorrow night.
