Mark Briscoe Attacked House of BlackBuddy Matthews was scheduled for singles action before Briscoe attacked him, so we never found out who he was supposed to face (not that it matters). This was a great brawl with Briscoe getting the better of everyone in House of Black (other than Julia Hart, obviously). This feud has been fine so far, so this was a wise way of giving it some juice and starting this show on a high note. I assume this will lead to Briscoe vs. Malakai Black eventually. Dante Martin def. "Bounty Hunter" Bryan Keith and Penta El Zero Miedo in a Three-Way Match to Qualify for the All-Star Scramble Match at RevoutionWhat a random match. Yes, a spot in the All-Star Scramble matchup was on the line, but similar to Matt Sydal vs. Magnus on Friday's Rampage, why was it three and and not an actual all-star? Penta was probably the biggest star involved, but even he wouldn't have won at Revolution, anyway. In other words, this was a meaningless match, but it was fun for what it was and I give them credit for making the most of the time they had. Mariah May def. Angelica Risk; Deonna Purrazzo Attacked May and AEW Women's World Champion Toni StormA majority of the focus in the women's division as of late has bene on the Storm vs. Purrazzo program as it should be, but May racking up wins has been a subtle story playing out in the background. It's something to keep an eye on because I suspect she'll eventually cost Storm the AEW Women's World Championship. She's been impressive thus far, but I'm looking forward to the first competitive match she has. The post-match angle with Storm and Purrazzo getting physical ahead of Revolution was well done. Bang Bang Scissor Gang (AEW World Trios Champions The Acclaimed and ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion Austin Gunn) def. The Dark Order (John Silver and Alex Reynolds and Evil Uno)I hate to sound like a broken record, but this Bang Bang Scissor Gang crap continues to be terrible and an absolute waste of Jay White specifically. I have no doubt the endgame is Bullet Club Gold turning on The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn and potentially having a Winners Take All match, but it couldn't come soon enough. White and Colten Gunn teamed with Billy a week or two ago, so this was the reversal of that. It was a match that existed. Chris Jericho Interrupted Wardlow Before Being Attacked by Powerhouse HobbsWardlow cut an excellent promo on Dynamite last week and I was glad he had a chance to show some more fire here. He addressed the opportunity in front of him at Revolution where he'll take part in the All-Star Scramble match, and as big of a win as that'd be for him, it might be too soon for him to be challenging for the AEW World Championship and likely losing. Jericho's promo was whatever and I hope this was only meant to hype their involvement in the All-Star Scramble. I have no desire to see them feud. Private Party def. Christopher Daniels and Matt SydalIt was announced earlier in the day that Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethat, Satnam Sigh, Willie Mack and Private Party will face Bang Bang Scissor Gang on the Revolution Zero Hour pre-show. Ugh. I understand Tony Khan wants the stupid stable on the show in some capacity, but that sounds like total throwaway. This was designed to give Private Party a win before then even though they're clearly losing in that match. Thunder Rosa def. Cassandra GoldenIt's pretty wild when you think about how Rosa was never beaten for the AEW Women's World Championship two years ago (due to injury) and how that hasn't amounted to anything. I'm sure they're getting to that, probably post-Revolution, but from a storyline standpoint, it is odd that she's spinning her wheels in the meantime. This was another standard squash for her that didn't overstay its welcome. The Patriarchy (Killswitch and AEW TNT Champion Christian Cage), Roderick Strong and Brian Cage def. Trent Beretta, AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy, FTW Champion Hook and Daniel GarciaCollision has hosted at least one other "all-star" tag team match the night before a pay-per-view, and what's funny is that this had star power than the actual All-Star Scramble match set to take place at Revolution. It received an ample of time and the action was entertaining. The outcome was irrelevant, but Killswitch pinning Beretta was a weird choice since neither of them will be wrestling on Sunday as of now. Overall ShowThis was the most Rampage edition of Collision I've seen in a while and I don't mean that as a compliment. That's largely due to the fact it was taped Wednesday after Dynamite. The main event was enjoyable, but there really wasn't anything else that stood out about this episode. There was some decent hype for Revolution, but nothing that will make you any more excited for the event than you already were.
