Bryan Danielson def. Shane TaylorBlackpool Combat Club's mini feud with Shane Taylor Promotions has been entirely exclusive to Collision for the last month or so. Shane Taylor Promotions have lost every single time, so the outcome here was never in doubt, but it was a good match while it lasted. Will Ospreay confronted Danielson afterward and they made their match official for Dynasty next month. That's going to be another certified banger coming off Ospreay's latest Match of the Year contenders with Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher. The Elite (Kazuchika Okada and The Young Bucks) def. Jon Cruz, Liam Grey and Adrian AlanisI was today-years-old when I found out that Cruz is Serpentico unmasked. That makes sense as to why we see him used so often. I'm no Serpentico fan, but the dude works hard, I'll give him that. Anyway, this was a fine in-ring debut for the new Elite. I'm surprised this was given away on three days' notice without much fanfare, but I am looking forward to them facing Eddie Kingston, Penta El Zero Miedo and Pac (who returned afterward) on Wednesday's Dynamite (especially since I'll be there in person). Mariah May def. Trish AdoraMay apparently will be coming out to Toni Storm's old entrance music with her old gear for the foreseeable future. Honestly, it works really well and it only adds to her storyline with Storm because she's supposed to be her biggest fan. She was even presented with the first-ever "Toni Award" afterward before attacking Deonna Purrazzo, so those two are clearly headed for a match together. Her outing against Adora was a simple showcase for her. Nick Wayne def. Adam PriestWayne has largely been booked as a stepping stone so far in The Patriarchy, but to his credit, he seems to be getting more comfortable in the heel role. He doesn't pick up many enhancement wins, so I assume this existed to build him up a bit before he faces Adam Copeland or someone else soon. Speaking of Copeland, he came through the crowd post-match to attack Christian Cage and hype their "I Quit" match for the March 20th Dynamite. "Lionheart" Chris Jericho def. TitanAside from the entrance music and attire, there is quite literally nothing different about Jericho's Lionheart persona than how he is normally and I don't know who the Lionheart stuff appeals to at this point other than Tony Khan himself. It was cool when he brought it back as a one-off against Jon Moxley in 2022, but now it's just silly. He's spinning his wheels at this point when he'd really benefit from some time away. An alliance with Hook is not worth sticking around, including for Hook's sake. This was a well-wrestled affair, but it doesn't serve much of a purpose in the grand scheme of things other than to further his partnership with Hook, who saved him from The Gates of Agony afterward. The Infantry Confronted FTRTony Schiavone interviewed FTR about what's next for them following their loss to Blackpool Combat Club at Revolution and they confirmed their sights are set on the upcoming AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament. I could see them making it all the way to the finals before losing to the Bucks (or perhaps that happens in the semifinals so the Bucks can face/beat Blackpool Combat Club in the finals instead). The Infantry coming out was random and I don't think anyone sees them as a serious threat to FTR, but I appreciate the attempt to get some new blood on the show. Mistico def. AngelicoMistico recently won the MLW World Middleweight Championship, but I knew that wouldn't be acknowledged on AEW TV. He's one of the only CMLL talents I'm actually interested in seeing featured in AEW because he's a hell of a talent and that was once again evident here. CMLL haven't really gotten the better of AEW in most matches so far, so this was a welcome win for the CMLL side (even though defeating Angelico means nothing). It was a fun spot-fest, but that's about it. House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King and Buddy Matthews) def. Mark Briscoe, Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett in an Atlanta Street FightThis rivalry between Briscoe and House of Black started in a six-man Steel Cage tag team match, so it was weird we got another hardcore six-man tag team match involving them (Briscoe didn't team with FTR this time, but you get my point). I enjoyed the Steel Cage matchup much more because all of the shenanigans with Lethal and Jarrett's crew was so unnecessary. The burning table spot was especially stupid with this not being a match that will be remembered a week from now, but that's AEW for you. Black pinning Briscoe gives me hope a singles bout between them will be the endgame of this storyline. Overall ShowThe main event wasn't my cup of tea, personally, but there are bound to those who thought it was a blast. The rest of the show was fairly inconsequential, but Okada having his first match as an AEW-contracted talent, Pac's return and Danielson vs. Ospreay being made official for Dynasty were enough to salvage it. I'm not sure why Collision continues to be taped in advance most weeks, but hopefully they can get back to airing live episodes weekly before it becomes Rampage 2.0.
