AEW Women's World Champion "Timeless" Toni Storm def. Lady Frost in an AEW Women's World Championship Eliminator MatchFrost has had a number of matches on AEW TV and ROH TV in recent years and she's quite talented, so I'm glad she got an opportunity to show what she can do against one of AEW's top stars. This wasn't given a ton of time, but it was a good opener for as long as it lasted. Storm is clearly in a holding pattern until after Double or Nothing when she finds out her challenger at All In, but even though these matches are meaningless, the crowds are into them. ROH World Champion Sammy Guevara def. AR Fox, Rush and Kevin Knight in a $100,000 High Speed Collision Four-Way MatchWe just got a match with money on the line a few weeks ago and it amounted to nothing, so I have no idea why Tony Khan felt the need to do another one so soon after when they could've put a title shot up for grabs instead. That would've helped give this more value, but for whatever it was worth, this was a fun four-way spot-fest. Guevara being Adam Cole's next AEW TNT Championship challenger was teased afterward. Megan Bayne def. Harley CameronThis was the perfect match to do with Cameron being so beloved as a babyface and Bayne being on the rise as a top heel in the women's division. They told a solid story and had a decent match. Bayne winning was obviously the right call, but it's not like Cameron loses much from being beaten by someone who has only suffered one loss so far. Post-match, Anna Jay made the save for Cameron, so look for that tag team match to happen soon. AEW World Champion Jon Moxley Addressed AEW World Trios Champion Samoa JoeThis was a fine way to hype the AEW World Championship match between Moxley and Joe coming up on the Spring Break edition of Dynamite. The best part about it was that it was kept short and sweet. What I really want to see is Moxley and Joe trade verbal jabs in the same segment. I know Joe is facing Claudio Castagnoli on Wednesday's Dynamite, but hopefully we get it on that show or on Collision. Brody King vs. Josh Alexander Ended in a Time-Limit DrawAlexander recently pinned King in a tag team match, so this was a logical match to do. Alexander needs more wins to establish himself in AEW, so while I would have preferred for him to go over in decisive fashion here, I'm all for him having a mini feud with King and building to a rematch. This was really good stuff from these two as you'd expect and their post-match brawl was a nice touch. Daniel Garcia def. Max CasterGarcia returned last week to save Cole from an FTR attack, though he wasn't gone for very long. This existed to give him a quick win and get him back on the right track. Caster gave this a five-minute time limit, but it hardly mattered since Garcia won in a lot less than that. I still think we get Garcia and Cole vs. FTR soon, but beyond that, I'm not sure what Garcia's immediate trajectory is. The Gates of Agony def. Ray Jaz and GoldyGates of Agony picked up a random win on Collision a few weeks back and it was clear that only existed to give them a last-minute momentum boost before they unsuccessfully challenged The Hurt Syndicate for the AEW World Tag Team Championship that Wednesday on Dynamite. This served a similar purpose so they could feel like a little bit of a threat before they brawled with Big Bill and Bryan Keith in the parking lot. CRU were also at ringside, so I appreciate the attempt to heat up the tag team scene. FTR def. Paragon (Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly) in a 2-out-of-3 Falls MatchThese teams had their rubber match that I enjoyed on last week's episode, so I don't know why that could've been two-out-of-three falls instead of this. Honestly, I'm not sure why the stipulation was even necessary. It was a quality main event, but it didn't come close to the other two-out-of-three falls matches FTR have had in their careers. Garcia emerged afterward to challenge someone from FTR to a singles match next week. Overall ShowCollision is the ultimate example of a show that you're aren't missing much by not tuning into (especially on a Saturday night), but the two hours aren't a waste of time. In fact, I thought they effectively filled the time this week with some entertaining action and storyline advancement. Some things felt like filler, but the more important matches (in the second hour specifically) made this show worthwhile on the whole.
