AEW Collision Review - May 30, 2026

AEW World Trios Champions The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly) def. The Don Callis Family (RPG Vice and Lance Archer)

I hope the AEW World Trios Championship continue to get defended regularly now that The Conglomeration have them. It's not like AEW has a shortage of stables. Granted, RPG Vice and Archer weren't legitimate threats to the titles in the slightest, but it was an enjoyable opener for what it was. This is probably the best spot for Cassidy, Strong and O'Reilly at this point.

AEW Women's World Tag Team Champions The Divine Dominion vs. TayJay in an AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship 5-Minute Eliminator Match Ended in a Time-Limit Draw

The whole point of Divine Dominion doing this five-minute challenge gimmick was so a team could eventually last the full five minutes and earn themselves a shot at their tag titles. It finally happened here, but "finally" might not be the right word to use because they've only been doing it for a few weeks. Nonetheless, this was what needed to happen to set up the rematch. It was more about the outcome than the actual match.

Tommaso Ciampa Addressed Jericho

While addressing Jericho, Ciampa referenced  a bunch of old Jericho bits, complete with a "list" (the one from his WCW days, not WWE). Ciampa talked about wanting the old Jericho to step up, so that was the purpose of the promo. I'm still a fan of the feud as I think it's a fine use of both men at the moment, but I could do without Ciampa relying on the goofy stuff.

Hazuki def. Maya World

Hazuki will face Persephone in a women's Owen Hart cup quarterfinal match on next week's Collision, so this was meant to serve as a showcase for her and get fans familiar with what she can do. It was a nice match. World deserves some recognition, too, though. She has been very impressive over in Ring of Honor this year and I'm glad she's also getting opportunities in AEW now.

ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty def. Tim Bosby (Non-Title)

I thought I was watching an episode of ROH TV for a second, as I couldn't tell you the last time Moriarty got a singles squash match on AEW TV, if ever. On the bright side, this didn't last long, but it felt out of place, even on Collision. I know The Death Riders faced The Infantry in the subsequent match, but I'm not sure why this happened unless Moriarty is going to be fed to Jon Moxley soon or whatever.

The Death Riders (AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley and Pac) def. The Infantry

The Infantry are routinely utilized as enhancement talent whenever they wrestle on AEW TV and this was no exception, but I still appreciate any opportunity to see them on Dynamite or Collision because they're very good. Death Riders were in babyface mode, despite being heels in other matches. It's confusing. Otherwise, this was a solid piece of business for as long as it lasted.

The Dogs (Clark Connors and David Finlay) def. The Gunns

As we found out on Wednesday's Dynamite, The Dogs are next up for a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championship, so needless to say, they had to win here. It was an average outing with nothing overly special about it. As far as The Gunns are concerned, I don't think they or the rest of Bang Bang Gang will interest me in any way until Jay White returns, and who the hell knows when that will be.

The Don Callis Family (Jake Doyle and Brian Cage) def. Jimmy Wild and Tommy Mars

With Doyle's original tag team partner Mark Davis busy as AEW National Champion at the moment, it looks like Cage will be his new partner going forward. No complaints from me, as I think they'll have quality chemistry as partners. This was total domination from them. They need more matches like this in order to be established as a force to be reckoned with in the tag team division.

AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita def. Daniel Garcia

It's been a while since I last saw Garcia as any sort of serious threat to a title. Although the end result was never in doubt, he and Takeshita had a really well-wrestled match in the time they were allotted. It was quickly overshadowed by the post-match chaos and everyone going at it including Death Riders, Shane Taylor Promotions, The Don Callis Family and The Conglomeration. That was fun.

Overall Show

This was similar to Wednesday's Dynamite in that it didn't have a ton to offer in the way of must-see, exciting developments coming out of Double or Nothing. Rather, it was your standard Collision show. There's nothing necessarily wrong with that, but there wasn't anything that caught my attention until the closing minutes with that wild brawl. Everything else was business as usual.
