Andrade El Idolo def. Daniel GarciaCJ Perry has been trying to find a new client and may have just found one in Andrade. I dig the pairing, regardless of whether it leads to an Andrade vs. Miro feud or the two joining forces. At any rate, this was a really good opener. I don't like that Garcia followed up his loss to MJF on Dynamite with another loss here, but at least it appears he's on the verge of finally breaking off on his own. He needs to ditch the Jericho Appreciation Society rejects as soon as possible. Nick Wayne def. Dalton CastleHas Wayne won a televised singles match in AEW until now? This very well might be his first. He works better in the pest heel role than as the plucky underdog babyface who never wins, but it's clear he's going to take the pinfall in that six-man tag team match at Full Gear next weekend. At least they gave him a needed singles win before then. This was well wrestled, but the crowd was quiet for a majority of it. Castle losing before challenging for the ROH World Championship next Thursday on ROH TV was certainly a choice, but we all know Tony Khan doesn't care about that. La Faccion Ingobernable (Rush and Dralistico) def. The WorkhorsemenPreston Vance fell short against Ricky Starks on Friday's Rampage, but Rush and Dralistico were able to bounce back with a win for the faction here. As I always say, The Workhorsemen are super talented wrestlers who never win, but this was a nice sprint while it lasted. We found out in a backstage segment later on that it will be Starks and Big Bill vs. LFI vs. House of Black vs. FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at Full Gear. Roderick Strong def. Darius MartinThis was Strong's first match since September when he lost to Samoa Joe as part of that Grand Slam tournament. I've said in other reviews that his screaming shtick is getting old (because it is) but also that I've wanted to see some progression with his storyline and we got that here. It wasn't anything too meaningful, but Strong wrestling again is the next step. This was a step above a squash in that Martin was able to score some offense before eating defeat, which I appreciated. Julia Hart def. Willow NightingaleI give Hart a lot of credit for improving every aspect of her game this year. Her promos are better and more focused and her in-ring work has gotten so much better. Working with experienced wrestlers obviously helps and that was the case here. This was an enjoyable outing from her and Nightingale. With this win, Hart will challenge Kris Statlander for the AEW TBS Championship at Full Gear. The third spot in the three-way will be determined when Skye Blue faces Red Velvet on Wednesday's Dynamite. Powerhouse Hobbs def. Titus AlexanderThe booking of Hobbs lately has been encouraging. AEW has dropped the ball with him time and time again in the past, so I hope this renewed push with him as a member of The Don Callis Family will be different. This was a simple squash for him. Don Callis cut one of his usual rambling promos afterward and got in the face of Paul Wight on commentary. I'm curious how much interaction we'll get between Hobbs and Wight based on Wight's current physical limitations. Adam Copeland, Sting and Darby Allin def. The Righteous and Lance ArcherI liked the idea to put The Righteous in a stable with Archer and Jake Roberts last week. I hated that they were fed to Copeland, Sting and Allin one week later. It was evident this only happened to covnince people to stay until the end of the taping, but on the bright side, it was an entertaining main event and the heels were made to look competitive in there with the three top babyfaces. It was also basically a warm-up for the babyfaces before their Full Gear match with Christian Cage, Luchasaurus and Wayne. Overall ShowIt's worth noting that Khan and Bryan Danielson announced in a backstage segment on this episode that there will be a Continental Classic tournament taking place on Dynamite, Rampage and Collision in the coming weeks, culminating at Worlds End on December 30th. Nothing is at stake as of now, but Danielson will be participating, so that's exciting. As for this edition of Collision, it was a solid show on the whole, largely thanks to the opening and closing matches. It was hindered by being taped after Rampage on Friday night, but it will be live next Friday night (airing opposite of WWE SmackDown) because Full Gear is that Saturday night.
