Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne def. TayJay in an AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarterfinal MatchI don't know if Bayne and Penelope Ford would've advanced had Ford not gotten hurt, but it was the only outcome that made sense after what happened at the end of last week's women's Blood and Guts match. I feel bad for TayJay, though, because they've been lobbying for women's tag titles in AEW since they started teaming five years ago and got eliminated from the first round of this tourney. Nonetheless, this was a nice, competitive contest and Shafir and Bayne are quickly developing quality contest together. AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada def. CMLL World Trios Champion Mascara DoradaOkada and Dorada were involved in that terrific three-way at All Out, and while this was a very enjoyable outing, it wasn't quite as great because of how late in the show it happened and the crowd probably knowing Dorada wasn't winning. It was a silly stipulation because it means Okada, Konosuke Takeshita and Hechicero will challenge El Sky Team for the CMLL World Trios Championship at Full Gear... on the pre-show. Bummer, I was hoping we'd get the first bout between Okada and Takeshita there instead. AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone def. Red Velvet to Become the Undisputed ROH Women's World Television Champion (AEW TBS Championship Was Not Defended)No, I'm not going to pretend to give a single shit about the ROH Women's World Television Championship, but this was a logical match to do in the main event of Collision with the episode emanating from Mone's hometown of Boston. Mone has had far better matches this year, but this was decent for what it was. Hopefully Mone getting the better of Kris Statlander afterward means Statlander is beating her at Full Gear, but I'm not holding my breath. Overall ShowBy Collision standards, this was an above-average show with all three matches having stakes and feeling somewhat important. The hour was quick on its own, but the three-hour block of wrestling (combined with Dynamite) will always be long. I guess this is a new thing AEW will be doing during pay-per-view weeks going forward. Ugh. At least they made this show worthwhile and it wasn't a complete waste of time.
