Will Ospreay def. Juice Robinson in a Continental Classic Gold League MatchOspreay and Robinson are far from being on the same level in terms of where they're positioned on the card, but I understand wanting to make Robinson look competitive in defeat because he still has the rest of the Continental Classic to go. Plus, this thing is apparently all about great wrestling, not squashes. This was a nice rebound win for Ospreay following his loss to Kyle Fletcher at Full Gear. AEW World Tag Team Champions Private Party and Mistico def. Johnny TV and MxM CollectionJohnny and MxM Collection are officially a unit, and although they mesh well together, don't expect them to be anything other than an enhancement trio (in other words, I can't imagine them seriously chasing the AEW World Trios Championship). Private Party and Mistico were a fun trio, even though there was zero explanation for why this match happened. Hopefully Private Party have some credible competition lined up to challenge them soon. Kyle Fletcher def. The Beast Mortos in a Continental Classic Blue League MatchMorots is going to be that guy in the Blue League this year that eats a lot of losses so the other competitors can rack up wins. He'll have a good match every time, but the outcome won't ever really be in doubt. That was clearly the case here, especially after Fletch beat Ospreay at Full Gear. Much like the opener, I wouldn't have minded if this was slightly shorter, but I can't say I'm surprised with it being the Continental Classic. Plus, what we got was solid. The Outrunners def. Iron Savages (Boulder and Bronson)I continue to question why Iron Savages are featured on AEW TV and ROH TV every single week despite the depth on both rosters. There's nothing wrong with their in-ring work, but their shtick is terrible, channel-changing material to me. Thankfully, The Outrunners have turned things around and have become quite the popular tandem in the last few months. I didn't care for the match itself, but it did see The Outrunners pick up a victory. "Hangman" Adam Page def. AEW World Trios Champion Wheeler YutaYuta is obviously a very skilled wrestler, but it's almost impossible to take him seriously as a threat as part of this Death Riders storyline that is dominating the top of the card currently. He and Page had a quality contest, so there was that. Page attacked Yuta afterward and Jay White did the same. I could certainly see Page and White reluctantly joining forces to take on Death Riders one of these days. Mina Shirakawa def. Leila GreyI'm glad Shirakawa isn't coming out with all of the other belts she holds right now. The build to her bout with Mariah May for the AEW Women's World Championship on the Winter Is Coming edition of Dynamite doesn't need them. At any rate, this was a simple showcase for Shirakawa. Grey has had some impressive outings on AEW TV and ROH TV in the last month or so, but she never wins when it matters most. This was designed to be a momentum boost for Shirakawa. AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada vs. AEW TNT Champion Daniel Garcia in a Continental Classic Blue League Match Ended in a Time-Limit Draw (Non-Title)It would have been incredibly stupid for Garcia to go from winning the AEW TNT Championship at Full Gear to losing in his first Continental Classic match a week later (he shouldn't be in it this year to begin with), so I had no issue with this ending in a time-limit draw. This was a very good main event that served as a small taste of what we can expect from Okada in the remainder of the tournament. Overall ShowThis was a rare afternoon edition of Collision due to the holiday weekend (and presumably WWE Survivor Series airing opposite of it as well). I can't imagine many people remembered this show was even airing (or went out of their way to check it out), but this was actually an enjoyable episode, primarily because of the Continental Classic. Those matches will help make Collision a little more eventful through the end of the year at least.
