AEW World Champion "Hangman" Adam Page Addressed AEW World Trios Champion Samoa JoePage was conspicuous by his absence on Wednesday's Dynamite, where it would have been nice to see him show up and cost The Opps the AEW World Trios Championship after they attacked him at WrestleDream. Despite that, this was a strong, intense promo from Page. A number one contender's four-way will be held on next week's Dynamite, but it seems pretty clear Joe will be winning that one. Pac def. NJPW Strong Openweight Champion Tomohiro IshiiI always forget that Ishii is Strong Openweight Champion because I feel like he never comes out with the belt, unless he does and I just haven't been paying attention because I don't care and there are already so many belts in AEW as it is. Anyway, I found this to be a very boring bout. Ishii never wins on his own in AEW and there was no way he was winning here, either. On a side note, Pac was back to wearing his generic jobber gear for some reason. Thekla def. Mina ShirakawaThis was hyped up as both women being undefeated on Collision, I believe just in singles competition. Uhm, okay, I guess. I can't say that made much of a difference to me, especially when there was zero chance Shirakawa would beat her after Thekla just lost her first singles match in AEW at WrestleDream. This gave Thekla a rebound victory and it was a good match for the time it was given. Olympia def. Taya ValkyriaThis was another one of MxM TV's open challenges, except it was a singles match for Valkyrie instead of a tag team match for MxM Collection and/or Johnny TV. The crowd sat on their hands when Olympia came out because she's from CMLL and this was her only AEW appearance to my knowledge. This was perfectly fine and existed so Olympia can challenge Mercedes Mone for the CMLL World Women's Championship on next week's Collison. Ace Austin def. "The Bounty Hunter" Bryan KeithFor those keeping track at home, Austin signed with AEW over two months ago and hasn't wrestled since his debut against Ricochet in August. What to ruin whatever momentum he may have had. And don't get me started on Keith, who hardly benefited from the awful alliance with Chris Jericho and has yet to recover. This was a solid showcase for Austin, but it won't mean anything if he quickly disappears from programming again. Hook def. Griff GarrisonI swear we saw this match years ago when Hook was still exclusively facing enhancement talent. Maybe not, but it certainly felt like a rerun of every Hook squash we've ever seen. Less of The Frat House on AEW TV, please. They're not quite as bad as Iron Savages were, but the gimmick still sucks. Additionally, Hook's latest team with Eddie Kingston is a complete waste of Kingston. JetSpeed and Jurassic Express def. FTR and The Young Bucks in a $400,000 MatchFor the excessive amount of money matches (where kayfabe cash is on the line) that AEW has booked this year, I actually had issue with the one Jurassic Express had with the Bucks at WrestleDream because the Bucks are broke. Jurassic Express won, yet Tony Khan gave the Bucks another opportunity to make money with this main event. Make it make sense. Nonetheless, this was the entertaining main event you'd expect given who was involved. It also furthered two feuds at once. Overall ShowThankfully, I caught this show after it aired (as I usually do) because it was such a chore to sit through. You can tell that it was taped the same night as Dynamite because the crowd wasn't very lively and most of the matches were forgettable by AEW standards. Only the star-studded main event and the opening promo from Page are worth checking out in my opinion. Feel free to skip the rest unless you're an AEW "sicko."
