Mark Briscoe Attacked MJF

Briscoe announced that the grand stipulation for his match with MJF at All Out will be... Tables and Thumbtacks. Uhm, okay. That's a first. It'd be a spectacle if we didn't see that sort of stuff so damn often in this company, including recently. Oh well. The segment itself was solid and established the stipulation for their matchup. It was wise for Briscoe to come close to giving MJF his comeuppance only for MJF to get away.

Konosuke Takeshita def. Anthony Bowens in an AEW International Championship Eliminator Match

Bowens has lost so many important matches since breaking off on his own that it's difficult to take him seriously in situations like this. Based on what we saw later on in the show, this may not be happening for much longer. Nonetheless, he and Takeshita had a nice match. It really should be Kazuchika Okada vs. Takeshita one-on-one at All Out instead of a three-way, but at least they'll be sharing the ring at all.

Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart and Skye Blue), Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford def. Anna Jay, Tay Melo, Harley Cameron, Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter in a $500,000 Match

Ah, another match for money. Does anyone honestly give a shit? I feel like I've seen every combination of these woman imaginable over the last three or four months. I know we're getting AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship soon, but man, they desperately need to stop with these stupid multi-woman tag team matches that accomplish nothing. The action was acceptable, but it was almost irrelevant who won.

Big Bill def. Max Caster; Jerry Lynn, Caster and Anthony Bowens Attacked Blake Christian and Lee Johnson

Bill vs. Caster was no different than most of Caster's open challenges in that Bill squashed him in a matter of minutes as he should have. He proceeded to call out Eddie Kingston afterward and that match is now official for All Out. I wish Kingston's return was a surprise, but I'll be happy to see him back, regardless. As for the tease of an Acclaimed return in the subsequent segment, I'm in genuine disbelief. Bowens had potential on his own, but Tony Khan completely gave up on him. Caster was able to find some momentum as well, so putting them right back together less than six months since they split is a significant step backward in my opinion.

FTR def. "The Dynamite Kid" Tommy Billington and Adam Priest

This was the third consecutive match FTR have had on Collision that was pointless. All three featured Priest, and this match specifically was a rematch from last week. I get that FTR just wanted to wrestle, but why not make these matches more meaningful? There wasn't anything technically wrong with this bout, but it was very much a repeat from last week and the result was never in doubt.

AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada def. Michael Oku in an AEW International Championship Eliminator Match

Typically, Eliminator matches are non-title matches where the challenger would earn a future title opportunity if they beat the champion, but because of the tournament to determine who will be involved in the three-way for the AEW International Championship at All Out, Okada's title was on the line here. Confusing, I know. It was an enjoyable outing despite being random, but Oku is always impressive and this was no exception.

The Death Riders (Daniel Garcia and Jon Moxley) def. Paragon (Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong)

Garcia's first order of business as a member of Death Riders wasn't explaining why he joined the group but rather teaming with Moxley to take on two people they haven't had an issue with recently. Okay, I guess. The most interesting aspect of this was Matt Menard wanting an explanation from Garcia but not getting one. As a main event, it was totally fine and the win keeps Death Riders rolling.

Overall Show

AEW's booking is all over the place heading into All Out, but they did strengthen the card with a few match announcements on this edition of Collision, making it more eventful than usual. That's in addition to the quality wrestling we got. Most of the matches were predictable, but as I've said before about Collision, there's worse ways to kill two hours. This was an adequate effort.
