AEW TNT Champion Jack Perry def. Christopher DanielsThis was Daniels' first match since becoming an on-air authority figure for AEW. I'll never complain about getting Daniels back in the ring, but the match should've meant much more considering The Elite have been a thorn in his side for months. I was surprised it was rather short and that there wasn't a ton to it, but at least it was another decisive win/title defense for Perry after losing to Bryan Danielson at All Out. Hologram and The Conglomeration (ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe and Kyle O'Reilly) def. Premier Athletes (Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari) and The Beast MortosPerhaps Hologram will be Tomohiro Ishii's replacement in The Conglomeration? I honestly couldn't care less either way, but I wouldn't be shocked if that ended up happening. At any rate, this was another completely pointless six-man tag team match featuring members from The Conglomeration. It was well wrestled and a few fun moments, but I don't see how anyone involved in these matches are really benefiting considering they have zero direction. AEW World Trios Champion Wheeler Yuta def. Anthony HenryYuta started out acting dejected after the Blackpool Combat Club fiasco at All Out before getting frustrated down the stretch. The match itself was whatsoever, but it did further that story. I'm curious how the situation with the AEW World Trios Championship will be handled considering Yuta holds the titles with two of the men who betrayed him: Pac and Claudio Castagnoli. Private Party and Komander def. Jon Cruz, Lord Crewe and Red JonesThis was the match we were supposed to get on Wednesday's Dynamite before Jon Moxley's crew attacked everyone, so if you were bummed it didn't come to fruition, rejoice! In all seriousness, this was another inconsequential match. Private Party and Komander addressed Moxley and company in their pre-match backstage interview, so I assume this existed to give them a win before they inevitably get destroyed by the heels. Do we know why the trio of Private Party and Komander is even a thing? Yuka Sakazaki def. Serena DeebI can't say I was overly entertained by Sakazaki's backstage interaction with Mariah May earlier in the episode. I realize she was just doing her gimmick, but personally, I don't find her to be an interesting challenger for May, even if their eventual one-on-one clash delivers. At least she beat someone with some notoriety in Deeb to reestablish herself as a credible competitor. It was a nice match while it lasted and I'm glad it got some time. Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson and The Gunns) def. Cage of Agony (Brian Cage and The Gates of Agony)You'd think these trios were fighting for a potential shot at the AEW World Trios Championship, but I don't get the sense either trio is headed for title contention anytime soon. In other words, this match happened for the sake of happening because none of these guys have anything going on at the moment. There was nothing technically wrong with this match, but hey, it killed television time. For Bang Bang Gang's sake, I hope Jay White's return is imminent because they've been floundering without him. Queen Aminata def. Robyn RenegadeAminata has been going back and forth with Deeb in backstage segment since that four-way on Collision a few weeks ago. It's a great use of both women since they deserve more television time. The story here was that Aminata won her match on this show when Deeb couldn't, though you can argue Deeb had tougher competition. This was the standard squash for Aminata that it should have been and it didn't overstay its welcome. FTR def. Grizzled Young VeteransIt's cool that we have a feud in the tag team division that isn't over a set of tag titles. It keeps FTR busy with something substantial and introduces Grizzled Young Veterans as significant players. Granted, they lost clean here, but it was an enjoyable outing between two top tandems and I hope there's more matches to come. I just wish it got more time. The Outrunners made the save for FTR afterward, which the crowd popped big for. Credit to them for getting over as fan favorites as of late. Overall ShowThis followed the usual formula of Collision shows that didn't feature many matches worth seeking out, but the main event and the Nigel McGuinness video package (addressing his history with Danielson) stood out. Everything else largely just existed and served as setup for Wednesday's Dynamite. I've seen worse editions of Collision, but there have definitely been more memorable ones in recent weeks and months.
