The Young Bucks def. The Don Callis Family (Jake Doyle and Brian Cage)For a brief period, it looked like Doyle and Cage would be a team (replacing Davis & Doyle after Doyle got hurt earlier this year and Mark Davis found success on his own), but they haven't teamed too often as of late. In fact, Cage had a tag match or two recently with Hechicero for some reason. Nonetheless, this was a nice match and a good win for the Bucks. We found out at the end of the night what this was designed to set up. Brodido and "Hangman" Adam Page def. Braddah Kaimi, LVJ and Vin ParkerNeedless to say, there wasn't anything to this match as it was over with quickly and was booked like a straightforward squash, as it should have been. I was wondering coming out of All In if Brodido and Page were already over as a trio since their reign as AEW World Trios Champions was short-lived. This answered that question. They're clearly gunning for a rematch for the Trios titles and I'm looking forward to that. Nick Wayne def. KomanderThese two have definitely faced off before, including over the ROH World Television Championship, so they're no strangers to each other. Komander has been making the most of all the opportunities he's been afforded as of late, and this was a nice match, but it existed to give Wayne a momentum boost heading into his feud with Jericho. Speaking of whom, Jericho showed up afterward to lay out Wayne. AEW TBS Champion and CMLL World Women's Champion Persephone def. Vertvixen (CMLL World Women's Championship Was Not Defended)I was stunned that Vertvixen scored as much offense as she did. Nothing against her as she's been around in AEW for ages, but she's always been positioned as an enhancement talent and the goal of this match should have been to make Persephone look dominant following coming off her AEW TBS Championship win at All In. Oh well. Post-match, Persephone and Britt Baker beat up Vertvixen before Maya World and Thunder Rosa made the save. The Motor City Machine Guns def. ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions The SwirlThe Swirl were a great team to put in there with Motor City Machine Guns because they're fun to watch and can also absorb a loss (the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship means nothing in AEW). The match was competitive enough and exactly what it needed to be. Motor City Machine Guns were overshadowed by The New Level at All In, so hopefully they don't get lost in the shuffle. AEW National Champion Andrade El Idolo def. Gabe KiddIn addition to being on opposite ends of that tag team match on Wednesday's Dynamite, Andrade and Kidd also have history from New Japan Pro-Wrestling. They had a quality contest here despite the outcome not being in much doubt. Andrade cut a promo afterward about wanting to be the best National champ AEW has had to date. That may not be too difficult since the title hasn't been around very long, but hopefully he can have consistent title defenses even though he's also eyeing the AEW World Championship at the moment. ROH Women's World Champion Athena def. Isla Dawn in an ROH Women's World Championship Proving Ground MatchIf you've seen one of Athena's Proving Ground matches, you've seen them all. Dawn posed slightly more of a challenge to Athena than most, but the result was inevitable. She yet again successfully retained her title at Death Before Dishonor and yet again is directionless, both in Ring of Honor and in AEW. That said, this gave me some faith that she'll be sticking around in AEW because why would this have happened otherwise? The Don Callis Family (Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher) def. Bang Bang Gang (Ace Austin and Juice Robinson)Knight and Fletcher both lost championships at All In, so this was meant to give them a rebound victory. This was well wrestled and whatnot, but I have no idea why this had to be positioned as the main event since there wasn't anything special about it. We did find out afterward that Knight and Fletcher will face The Young Bucks in a Tables match on Wednesday's Dynamite. Overall ShowDynamite was an excellent post-pay-per-view show on Wednesday, and while this show had a little less going for it, it was still a thumbs-up episode on the whole. To me, the highlights were Andrade vs. Kidd and Motor City Machine Guns making their formal AEW in-ring debut, but the tag team matches that bookended the episode were enjoyable and served a purpose. Everything else was perfectly fine.
