AEW World Trios Champions The Death Riders (Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli and Pac) def. AR Fox and Top FlightThe trios division felt like it was heating up not too long ago, but Death Riders don't defend their titles often enough to justify them still being champions. AEW has more than enough trios that can carry those titles instead, provided AEW insists on keeping them around (personally, I'd scrap the division all together at this point). There was no chance Fox and Top Flight would actually win here, but it was an enjoyable opener for what it was. Bandido def. Johnny TVWhile it's impossible to take Johnny seriously at this point, he can still hold his own in the ring and can always be counted on for a quality contest. Of course, the outcome was never in doubt, but I thought these two had a nice little sprint in the time they were allotted. Bandido outsmarted Chris Jericho and his goons afterward to retrieve Gravity's mask, for anyone who cares. Harley Cameron def. Aminah BelmontI appreciate that Cameron has mostly had a recurring role on AEW TV since losing to Mercedes Mone at Grand Slam: Australia. Granted, it's not a very prominent role and I'm not sure what she really gains from being associated with Hologram, but it's certainly... something. This was a standard showcase for Cameron, so at least she's still racking up wins in the meantime. Los Titanes del Aire def. La Faccion Ingobernable (Dralistico and The Beast Mortos)I assume the new team name for Hologram and Komander means they're going to be a regular team going forward. Honestly, I wouldn't have an issue with that considering how well they worked together here. We know Mortos and Dralistico are a talented tandem as well, so this was a blast of a bout and the crowd was into the action. On a show that didn't really feature much of note, they thankfully ended it on a high note. Overall ShowIn case you missed it, the "first hour" of Collision technically aired on Saturday night. It was a significantly stronger show than this one, but this episode was saved by the entertaining main event. Not even the Trios title match felt important because it was clear from the get-go who was winning. Regardless of whether these shows benefited from airing after the basketball coverage, hopefully this was a one-week experiment and Collision remains a two-hour program.
