Kenny Omega and AEW World Tag Team Champions Brodido def. Josh Alexander and The Young Bucks; Andrade El Idolo Attacked OmegaI couldn't tell you what the point of this match was from a storyline standpoint or why Omega would be returning here instead of going after Kyle Fletcher (who took him out several weeks ago), but hey, it was an enjoyable opener, so oh well. Jurassic Express made the save for Omega afterward and brawled with the Bucks to the back. Omega was then attacked by the returning Andrade, who is now aligned with Don Callis. Andrade is obviously super talented, but I can't say I'm optimistic this run will be any better than the last one, unless he's actually with CMLL and only just appearing in AEW occasionally. AEW TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher def. Orange CassidyHologram was originally scheduled to challenge for the title, but an injury will see him sidelined for the rest of the year, so he was replaced with Cassidy. They had a very good match as you'd expect. Excalibur thinking that the dude who cost Cassidy the win was actually Hologram was ridiculous, but at least it was quickly revealed to be Hologram's "evil clone." Unfortunately, he will also be joining The Don Callis Family, a faction that has become so bloated it's not even funny. AEW World Champion "Hangman" Adam Page and AEW World Trios Champions The Opps (Samoa Joe and Powerhouse Hobbs) def. The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Daniel Garcia)This was similar to the opener in that the action was entertaining yet nothing drastically different than we get in most AEW six-man tag team matches. I'm also just tired of Page and The Opps working with Death Riders. Thankfully, the focus then shifted to Page and Joe teasing tension, leading to Page vs. Joe for the AEW World Championship being made official for WrestleDream. Sign me the hell up. "Timeless" Toni Storm def. Tay MeloIt's weird not writing "AEW Women's World Champion" before Storm's name. Sure, there was a period before she got the belt back where she wasn't champ, but it wasn't very long (not to mention she was off television for most of it). At any rate, this was a nice first-time-ever encounter from these two. Post-match, Storm called out Kris Statlander for a one-on-one match for the AEW Women's World Championship. The Gates of Agony def. The SwirlGates of Agony were announced as just GOA, but I'll continue calling them Gates of Agony for now until we see if it sticks. I still don't understand why they had to unsuccessfully challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Championship last week, but at least this got them back on the right track and thus the match served its purpose. The Hurt Syndicate emerged afterward with MVP challenging Ricochet to a Street Fight on next week's show (I believe it's one-on-one and not with all six guys). AEW Women's World Champion Kris Statlander and Darby Allin def. The Death Riders (Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir) in a Tornado MatchWWE having a tornado tag team match in the main event of Monday's Raw is one thing, but AEW legitimately just did one on last Saturday's Collision for no real reason. This also had no business being a tornado matchup other than giving them an excuse to use weapons. In other words, it your typical Wednesday with the usual plunder. Statlander and Allin winning was the right call, but that's about it. Overall ShowI'm happy they confirmed the main event for WrestleDream since that's coming up quickly as well as Statlander vs. Storm for the event, but the hype for Title Tuesday next week was nearly nonexistent. I'm not even sure why it's called Title Tuesday since, as of now, there's only one championship match advertised. As for this episode, it was solid as Andrade's return was notable and the matches received plenty of time. The video package celebrating six years of Dynamite was also well done.
