AEW Women's World Champion Kris Statlander and "Timeless" Toni Storm BrawledThis was preceded by a backstage sit-down interview with the two of them and Renee Paquette discussing their WrestleDream match. Statlander has improved as a talker, but it still sounds like she's trying to find her voice. The subsequent "brawl" was fine but not overly interesting. They've done what they can with the build, but it's been somewhat limited with both of them being babyfaces. GOA def. The Hurt Syndicate (Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley)We found out on last week's Collision that it will be The Demand vs. The Hurt Syndicate one more time in a tornado match at WrestleDream, so this was designed to be a preview of that. We actually already got this earlier in the year for the AEW World Tag Team Championship, but this was better and more competitive, not to mention GOA winning was huge for them. Claudio Castagnoli def. Roderick StrongAlthough this felt like a match we'd get on Collision, I'm glad we got it on Dynamite. It was as well-wrestled as you'd expect considering the level of talent involved. I genuinely don't know what purpose this was supposed to serve on a go-home show for a pay-per-view neither guy is currently on, but if nothing else, I'm happy Castagnoli won on his own without interference from The Death Riders. Jurassic Express and Kenny Omega def. The Don Callis Family (Hechicero, Mark Davis and Josh Alexander)I liked how Omega wasn't immediately receptive to teaming with Perry given their history. As expected, they turned out to be a cohesive unit, so Omega may have finally found some allies against The Don Callis Family, especially in light of Kota Ibushi's unfortunate injury. This was a really fun, nicely-paced matchup. I hope we get Omega vs. Alexander one-on-one at some point and Alexander is made to look like a legitimate threat to Omega. Jamie Hayter def. Skye BlueHayter recently knocked off Hart, and ahead of her match with Thekla at WrestleDream, it was only logical for her to beat another member of Triangle of Madness in Blue. Thus, the outcome was never in doubt, but they had a solid match that was given an ample amount of time. Thekla's post-match promo wasn't the best, but I appreciate the extra build for their WrestleDream bout. AEW World Trios Champions The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs) def. La Faccion Ingobernable (Dralistico and ROH World Tag Team Champions Rush and Sammy Guevara)LFI are just starting to become a dominant act over in Ring of Honor, so I'm not a fan of rushing them into a shot at the AEW World Trios Championship and losing decisively. Joe was not losing before he challenges for the AEW World Championship at WrestleDream, even if he wasn't the one pinned. Despite that, it was an entertaining main event. I wish we got more from Joe and Adam Page afterward, though. Overall ShowCollision was an entirely separate broadcast even though it aired immediately afterward, so I'll judge Dynamite by itself. I can't say this was a successful go-home show for WrestleDream since it did virtually nothing to make me more excited for the pay-per-view than I was going into it. There was the usual quality action, but it was your standard show on the whole with there not being anything really worth seeking out.
