AEW World Champion "Hangman" Adam Page and AEW World Trios Champion Samoa Joe Faced OffThis is exactly the type of segment I was hoping for when their WrestleDream match was announced last week. Both guys are terrific talkers and they did an effective job of making their matchup feel more meaningful by explaining exactly why it's happening. Of course, there's zero chance Joe beats Page at the pay-per-view, but I'm still looking forward to it. Jon Moxley def. NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion Tomohiro Ishii (Non-Title)We've seen these two fight at least once or twice before, so this was hardly anything new. There wasn't anything necessarily wrong with it, mind you, but it wasn't very interesting, either. They had the hard-hitting affair you'd expect them to. That's about it. Darby Allin waited until the end of the night to wreak havoc, so even after this was over, nothing happened whatsoever. The Hurt Syndicate (Shelton Benjamin, Bobby Lashley and MVP) def. The Demand (Ricochet and The Gates of Agony) in a Street FightThe six-man tag team match these trios had at All Out was great, but I think I liked this even more because of the stipulation. Sure, we see this sort of stuff all the time in AEW, but they made excellent use of their surroundings in what was basically an extended brawl. Hurt Syndicate got their win back, but I'm not positive this feud is over just yet. A rubber matchup may be in order with WrestleDream coming up quickly. Jurassic Express def. Orion and K.M.It's worth noting that Jack Perry was introduced as "Jungle" Jack Perry, so it looks like he's brought back the Jungle nickname just without the Boy part. Their first tag team match together in over three years was a straightforward squash as it should have been. Post-match, The Young Bucks laid them out (attacking Perry the same way Perry attacked Tony Khan in that same building last year was a nice touch) and challenged them to a match at WrestleDream. AEW TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher def. Kyle O'ReillyThese two had a hell of a match a few months ago on Collision, so I had no issue with them running it back here. That said, with this somehow being the only advertised championship match on a show called Title Tuesday (we didn't know who Mone would be facing), it was extremely predictable that O'Reilly wasn't winning. Despite that, it was entertaining. We then found out Fletcher will defend the AEW TNT Championship against Mark Briscoe at the pay-per-view. AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone def. Lacey LaneWith Mone holding an open challenge against anyone from Florida, Lane was the last name I would've predicted. Sure, she worked a match on ROH TV a few weeks ago, but the crowd was understandably quiet when she came out because she was nothing more than a tag team wrestler in WWE. To her credit, she had an impressive outing here, but we'll if it was enough to earn her a contract with the company (assuming they haven't already signed her). The Don Callis Family (AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita) def. AEW World Tag Team Champions Brodido in a Double Jeopardy Eliminator MatchThe stipulation stated that if Brodido won, whoever picked up the win from that team would've earned an opportunity at the AEW Unified Championship at WrestleDream, regardless of who they beat. However, by virtue of their victory here, Okada and Takeshita can now challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at the event. Since they're doing the rematch, this didn't need to be anything other than solid so they can go all out in the rematch. They also effectively told the story of Bandido's shoulder being injured and that being what cost them in the end. Orange Cassidy def. PacCassidy and Pac have a ton of history dating back to early 2020, and although it was fitting for them to rekindle their rivalry in Daily's Place of all arenas, this felt random since Cassidy just returned and was feuding with The Don Callis Family prior to this point. It was a good main event, nonetheless. Allin creating chaos afterward was a fine tease for whatever his "I Quit" match with Moxley at WrestleDream is going to entail. Overall ShowMuch like last week, this show had no business being two-and-a-half hours long. I really hope that doesn't become the norm for Dynamite going forward. Otherwise, this was an enjoyable edition of Dynamite and it's always fun whenever AEW is back in their old stomping grounds at Daily's Place. More matches were confirmed for WrestleDream, which was a must with the pay-per-view being next Saturday.
