Josh Briggs def. Damon KempI'm more and more impressed by Kemp every time I see him in action. I had no idea he was the brother of Gable Steveson and his legitimate wrestling background makes him stand out. He's an impressive athlete but obviously still has a long way to go. As for Briggs, he's the better wrestler of him and Brooks Jensen, so I enjoyed this hoss fight while it lasted with Kemp getting to show some skills before eating defeat.

SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair, Shayna Baszler, Aliyah, Natalya, Shotzi and Sasha Banks Made Royal Rumble ProclamationsFirst and foremost, the new entrance music for Baszler is awfully generic and a significant downgrade from her previous theme, which was great. With that out of the way, the rest of this segment was fairly basic. My top two takeaways are that SmackDown's women's division is very thin and that Banks is back ahead of schedule. It's possible that she was never supposed to be out for six weeks and that WWE only exaggerated the injury to make it more of a surprise when she came back in time to be in the Rumble. The question is, why wasn't she saved as a surprise? Did they feel she'd be overshadowed by the possible return of Ronda Rousey? Either way, she's a strong addition to the match and immediately became a strong contender to win the whole thing.
Jake Something def. Chris BeyI'm not sure what the point of this match was, but apparently this IMPACT taping was hit hard by COVID with a number of people being unable to appear. This was a very fun and well-wrestled opener, but both guys need wins at the moment, so I was disappointed that Bey lost so soon after his loss to Laredo Kid. Guerillas of Destiny and Jay White helped Bey lay out Something and Mike Bailey afterward, so it looks like we've got another big heel faction on the roster for right now.
Arez def. Extreme TigreArez is still carrying around that briefcase full of money he won on Fusion: ALPHA last month. I thought I recognized Tigre, and then I realized he was Tigre Uno in IMPACT several years ago. Of the two, Arez was the right choice to win since he's the MLW guy. This was an enjoyable opener that featured the lucha style that's been prominent on these Azteca shows. We've seen some botches from the lucha guys on other episodes, but Tigre's stuff looked pretty clean and crisp and he worked well with Arez.
Die Familie (Teoman, Rohan Raja and Charlie Dempsey) def. Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey and Gallus)Teoman and Raja haven't done a ton for me so far, but this faction of theirs definitely makes them more interesting. Dempsey is the best part about it and watching him work was the highlight of this match. It was a well-wrestled six-man tag team affair that saw the right trio go over. That said, I don't think we've seen the last of Die Familie vs. Gallus and I like that Die Familie have won a majority of the matches so far.
