Brody King Confronted AEW World Champion MJFThis was a logical way to follow up on King saving Bandido from MJF at the end of last week's episode. King staked his claim at the next title shot and MJF understandably said he'd have to rack up some meaningful wins first while also acting scared. It was a simple segment yet an effective one. I assume we get that match within the next month as it doesn't feel worthy of being saved until Revolution.

NXT North American Champion and AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champion Ethan Page def. Elio LeFleurI knew nothing about LeFleur coming into this contest other than the fact he recently signed with NXT. This being his debut for the brand made me think there was a chance he'd take the title, but I'm glad Page retained since he's coming up on the all-time record for longest NXT North American Championship reign in about a month. Page works well with the luchadors and high-fliers, so this was an enjoyable outing.
Spencer Slade def. Alex Taylor to Win the NWA Junior Heavyweight ChampionshipI know Taylor had held the Junior Heavyweight title for a while, but I couldn't tell you exactly how long because I feel like he's only really defended it in random matches without much of a story. The matches have been well wrestled, but using this one as an example, I have no idea what Slade did to earn an opportunity at the belt. From an in-ring standpoint, however, it was solid and Slade winning was a genuine surprise.
Gunther Challenged AJ Styles to a Career-Threatening Match at the Royal RumbleGunther declaring for the men's Royal Rumble was hardly surprising, but I wasn't expecting him and Styles to run it back as soon as the Rumble event. They had a good exchange here and it made sense for Gunther to offer that up as the stipulation considering he already beat Styles last week. I also loved that Gunther gave him until the end of the night to accept as it provided the rest of the show with a strong hook. Styles ultimately accepted in a backstage segment, so it's set for the Rumble.
Pre-Show: TNA International Champion Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo def. KJ Orso, Eric Young and B.D.E. in a Four-Way MatchAs the commentators pointed out, Orso is the former Fuego Del Sol. He underwent a total character change a few years ago, and from what I understand, it's worked out well for him. He'd be a welcome addition to a depleted TNA roster based on what I saw from him here. This was a rather random four-way, but it was decent for what it was. Lorenzo losing the title without getting pinned would have been the wrong call, so I'm glad he retained.
