There's been a surge of chatter lately, even more so than the buzz following the Elimination Chamber that took place on March 1st. John Cena is making waves on the internet with his unexpected heel turn as part of his retirement tour. The overall reaction to his first promo as a heel has been mixed. While it has garnered considerable praise, it also comes with a dose of controversy, reminiscent of Cena's earlier career.
Many fans, as Cena himself pointed out in his promo, anticipated a new theme song, a fresh look, and new merchandise. Instead, he walked out just as he always has, which left many feeling disconnected from his transformation during Raw. However, there's no need to fret; it appears his approach was intentional.

Ricochet and "Speedball" Mike Bailey def. Mark Davis and Orange Cassidy in the Four-Way Finals of the AEW International Championship Eliminator TournamentYes, you read that correctly. Ricochet and Bailey both technically won after pinning Davis simultaneously. I don't know why the referee wouldn't have just restarted the match, but we've seen this sort of thing before, so I can't say I'm surprised. I'm also not bothered by the outcome, either, especially considering that three-way with Ricochet, Bailey and Kenny Omega at Dynasty is bound to be a banger. The match itself was entertaining with a consistently chaotic pace.
Women's United States Champion Chelsea Green def. Sol Ruca It wasn't always pretty, but this was a fun opener overall. It was a big opportunity for Ruca to showcase her skills against a main roster star and I thought she made the most of it. This obviously wasn't her time to take the title, but I thought she looked credible in defeat. How long until she and Zaria challenge for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship given all the wins they've racked up in the tag team ranks?
Alex Misery vs. Gaagz the Gymp in a Hair vs. Mask Match Ended in a No ContestWhen I saw this advertised, I can't say I gave two shits because anything Gaagz is involved in tends to be total throwaway, but they actually exceeded my expectations with a well-worked match. The stipulation also helped make it more meaningful, but then we get the terrible finish with Misery and Gaagz both attacking referee Joe Ocasio (why was he reffing?), causing the contest to be thrown out. I guess they'll be joining forces, which is very lame. Just get Gaagz the hell off Powerrr, please.
