OTM and TNA World Champion Mike Santana def. DarkState (Saaquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin and Dion Lennox)It's awesome Santana got to compete in Madison Square Garden in his native New York. Him teaming with OTM was also a natural fit. This was a fun opener and the crowd was into the action. Assuming this feud is over, OTM winning should put them in contention for the NXT Tag Team Championship coming out of Stand & Deliver. As for DarkState, Lennox said backstage afterward that he'd make an impact on Saturday, whatever that's supposed to mean.

The Wrestling Machines def. The Holy Grail in a Crockett Cup Opening-Round MatchWith EC3 gone, Holy Grail now consists of Pretty Boy Smooth and Hayden Backlund. When the match got underway, the commentators were talking about how Backlund had to prove himself, and since he was the one who got pinned, he may not be long for the group after all. This was a well-worked opener, and with Wrestling Machines being more of a cohesive unit, it made more sense for them to advance.
Stephanie McMahon Slapped Undisputed WWE Champion Cody RhodesStephanie confronting Rhodes was certainly a surprise, though I don't know that's necessarily a good thing. Yes, she was a victim of Randy Orton's heel antics many years ago and I know she's going into the WWE Hall of Fame this year, but this was still a strange segment to do, especially on Raw and not SmackDown. The most (unintentionally) hilarious part was Rhodes saying Stephanie wasn't her father and that apparently being enough for her to slap him. Wouldn't that be considered a compliment? Hopefully this doesn't mean Stephanie is the one Orton has been talking to on the phone recently.
JBL def. Finlay in a Belfast BrawlAlthough this looks like a random opener on paper that you'd likely have low expectations for, this turned out to be a blast of a brawl. Plus, you couldn't have put better two guys in there to beat the hell out of each other. They made the most of the stipulation and the match was the perfect length. Finlay winning would have been the feel-good ending with him fighting for his "son" Hornswoggle's honor, so JBL winning instead was a nice twist. He went on to challenge for the WWE Championship in a Fatal 4-Way the following month, so it made sense.
AEW Women's World Tag Team Champions The Divine Dominion def. The Babes of WrathHopefully Divine Dominion retaining the titles against the former champs means we can finally move on from this feud. Not because it's been bad, but because Willow Nightingale should be focusing on her AEW TBS Championship. Outside of that one nasty dive on the outside from Megan Bayne, this was a solid match and I appreciated them getting an ample amount of time in the opener slot.
