 Jeff Hardy def. VincentThis is a match I've been looking forward to for a long time but never thought it'd actually happen. That goes well beyond the start of this storyline, by the way. I first saw Vincent on the northeast independent wrestling scene back in 2012 and he immediately gave me Jeff Hardy vibes, so it was cool to get this matchup all these years later. Granted, it was more about Matt Hardy bringing back his Broken persona to cost Vincent the win than it was the action in the ring, but it worked well as the opener.

 Konosuke Takeshita def. "Daddy Magic" Matt MenardIs it bad that I wanted Takeshita to destroy Mernard as soon as I saw this was announced? Nothing against Menard, who does well in his role as an analyst on AEW's pay-per-view pre-shows, but I couldn't care less about any of his matches. I have no idea what happened to him teaming with Angelo Parker. At any rate, this was a decent opener to give Takeshita a victory.
 AEW TNT Champion Kevin Knight def. MJFDarby Allin told MJF last week that he'd have to put something on the line if he wants a rematch for the AEW World Championship, many (myself included) believed that MJF might take the AEW TNT Championship from Knight to set up a Title for Title match at Double or Nothing. Not only am I glad that won't be the case, I'm happy Knight scored a clean win over MJF. That's huge for him. Sure, it isn't ideal for Knight to be beating the guy who will likely be getting the world title back by Double or Nothing, but MJF will be fine. Hey, maybe they have a rubber match at some point. Either way, this was an entertaining opener, and Brody King's post-match promo hyped up his championship clash with Allin in the main event.
 NXT North American Champion Myles Borne def. Saquon ShugarsBorne already beat Dion Lennox last week, but Shugars said that Robert Stone would give DarkState another opportunity only if Shugars was the one getting the shot. Obviously, that will further play into the tension within the group's ranks. Anyway, this was a quality contest and it was refreshing getting to see Shugars what can do on his own for a change. Post-match, Tristan Angels debuted by cutting a promo in the crowd, and Kam Hendrix (who I'm familiar with from his time on WWE LFG as Anthony Luke) laid out Borne.
 Dr. Vik def. Wrecking Ball Legursky in an NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship No. 1 Contender's Match by Count-OutYes, this was an actual match they did, but to be fair, Vik has been a regular character on Powerrr for a while now, mostly in vignettes crushing on Tiffany Nieves, so this did have some story behind it. It was obviously ridiculous that Vik would beat Legursky, but it was done in fluky fashion with Vik winning by count-out, and Vik earning a shot at the title later in the night felt more like a one-off attraction anyway, if only to see how he'd fare against Silas Mason.
