Zero Hour: Kyle Fletcher def. SerpenticoOf all the pre-show matches, this one made the most sense to go on first considering there was barely anyone in the building at this point. For those that missed it, Fletcher lost the ROH World Television Championship to Atlantis Jr. at a CMLL event on Friday night, which is why he didn't have the belt with him here. This was a simple squash for Fletcher, but I don't know why it needed to exist.

Chaos (Orange Cassidy and Tomohiro Ishii) def. TMDK (Robbie Eagles and IWGP Tag Team Champion and NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Champion Shane Haste)Cassidy is still technically a part of Chaos, right? I assume Haste didn't team with his usual partner Mikey Nicholls because it would have been silly for Cassidy and Ishii to beat the IWGP Tag Team Champions and NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Champions if it wasn't going to lead to a title match. This was pretty good stuff and it's always a treat to see Ishii in action on AEW TV.
Orange Cassidy def. The Outrunners in a 2-on-1 Handicap MatchWith Cassidy facing Zack Sabre Jr. at Forbidden Door, this was supposed to serve as a last-minute momentum boost for him. I realize this was a Handicap match, but I would've been fine with it being even shorter because The Outrunners aren't a threat to anyone. In other words, it was essentially a squash and that's all it should have been. I have no doubt Cassidy and Sabre Jr. will deliver.
Riley Osborne def. Jasper TroyThis had the classic David vs. Goliath dynamic with Osborne giving Troy everything he had in an attempt to take him down. Troy is far more inexperienced than Osborne, so making Osborne do most of the work was a smart call. They ended up having a nice little match. Troy held his own in there and Osborne remains a blast to watch. Osborne is part of an ongoing story with Chase U at the moment, so this was a good win for him
The Bloodline Brawled with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton and Kevin OwensThis was a stellar start to the show, not only the brawl between the feuding factions (if you can call the babyface trio a “faction”) but also what came after the commercial break with Rhodes addressing The Bloodline and laying out the security guards before being escorted out of the arena. It was basic stuff, but it served as great build for the six-man tag team match at Money in the Bank and the crowd ate up all of it.
