Ash by Elegance Agreed to Face TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace at SlammiversaryI believe this was the first time we’ve heard from Grace in a TNA ring since all the WWE NXT stuff went down. She kept it short and sweet by challenging Ash to a match at Slammiversary, a championship challenge Ash subsequently accepted. This was a basic segment, but it accomplished what it needed to. I truly don’t care about Ash as a title contender, but I understand it’s logical with the way she’s been built up since her arrival earlier this year.

Lee Johnson def. Alex ReynoldsYes, the big follow-up to Johnson’s strong showing against Kyle Fletcher in last week’s two-out-of-three falls main event for the ROH World Television Championship was a match with Alex Reynolds of all people. I don’t know what other “big” stars Ring of Honor has currently that Johnson could’ve faced instead, but The Dark Order doesn’t exactly pique my interest these days. Their match was fine yet needlessly competitive. At least it got Johnson back in the win column.
Akira Tozawa def. Joaquin WildeThis was an unexpected matchup considering both guys are babyfaces, but I'm not complaining because they worked well together and had a nice outing. We barely see Wilde in singles action these days, but I'm glad he's being utilized while Cruz del Toro is out injured. He had a chance to show what he can do here and I thought he made the most of the opportunity. Tozawa rarely wins, so this was a good win for him.
MJF, Daniel Garcia and AEW International Champion Will Ospreay Confronted Each OtherIt was cool to see Garcia so prominently featured in his hometown. He's been getting a nice buildup in recent weeks with wins and video packages, but we've been fooled before with that sort of stuff with him. That said, it looks like AEW might actually be committing to his latest singles push with MJF challenging him to a match at All In. We'll see if it sticks, but that'd be huge for Garcia if it does. Ospreay also played his role well in this segment in setting up his AEW International Championship defense against Garcia for next week's Dynamite. A solid segment all around that had little to do with Forbidden Door but built toward what's to come.
