Hologram and The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy and Kyle O'Reilly) def. Johnny TV, The Beast Mortos and ROH Pure Champion Lee MoriartyI hate to sound like a broken record, but these meaningless multi-man tag team matches have become so tiresome. The Conglomeration have multiple matches each week and none of them have any real reason to exist other than to get those guys on the shows. With all of that said, this was a very fun opener. I believe this marked the first time that Hologram has competed for AEW outside of the Esports Stadium in Arlington and he got over in front of this crowd. That's an encouraging sign for his future.

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes def. Kevin OwensI knew this would be good given the level of talent involved, but this ended up exceeded my expectations. What an excellent opener. The crowd was white hot for everything they did and there were some suspenseful nearfalls down the stretch. Rhodes continues to kill it during this reign and it was nice to see Owens back in the world title mix for the first time in a while. No heel turn from Owens afterward, either. It could still happen at some point, but I feel like Randy Orton will be the one to betray Rhodes instead.
Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal def. The Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) and Private Party in a Three-Way Tag Team MatchI genuinely do not understand what the point of these multi-tag team matches are other than to get everyone on the show. Why not put a future AEW World Tag Team Championship opportunity at stake? All three of these teams are as cold as ice at the moment, but Jarrett still has some momentum. This was a well-worked three-way tag match, but I couldn't bring myself to care considering the outcome was irrelevant.
Hank Walker and Tank Ledger def. Kale Dixon and Uriah ConnorsWalker and Ledger are coming off a win over The O.C. on last week's NXT, so there was no way they were losing here. Speaking of which, we'll see if that win is capitalized on at all, but then again, it's not like beating The O.C. means much in 2024. This was a fairly basic bout, but at least it was well worked. Connors was approached by two dudes backstage afterward who said they had an offer for him. We couldn't see who they were from the back, but it was an intriguing cliffhanger. I assume it will be two new talents we haven't seen yet or just very little of.
United States Champion LA Knight def. Ludwig KaiserYes, Kaiser is a Raw Superstar, but Brand Split be damned. If Kaiser wasn't going to have a match in Germany (his home country) at Bash in Berlin, the SmackDown go-home show in Berlin was the next best thing. It felt like the crowd didn't know who to cheer for as they liked both of these guys, but it was a well-worked, quality contest, nonetheless. Kaiser continues to look impressive in defeat.
