Pre-Show: Frankie Kazarian def. KushidaKazarian attacked Kushida after they both lost that Ultimate X three-way qualifier recently on iMPACT!. I'm down for this feud if it continues beyond this point (and it should). Unsurprisingly, this was a quality contest from two seasoned pros. It didn't have much storyline support, so I had no issue with it being relegated to the pre-show. Kazarian winning by nefarious means keeps the door open for a rematch.

TNA X-Division Champion "Speedball" Mike Bailey def. Rich SwannThe winner of this match would not only capture the championship but would also go on to defend it in Ultimate X at Emergence. With that in mind, there was zero chance Swann was winning here, especially with Swann being recently suspended (I'm aware this was taped before that happened). Despite the predictable outcome, they delivered a very enjoyable outing and had great chemistry.
ROH Women's World Champion Athena def. Aleah James in an ROH Women's World Championship Proving Ground MatchJames made her AEW debut on an episode of Collision earlier this month where she lost to Hikaru Shida. She was impressive during her time in WWE NXT UK and held her own here against Athena, so I'd be down for her to join Ring of Honor full-time. As for Athena, if you've seen one of her Proving Ground matches, you've practically seen them all. She and Billie Starkz attacked Abadon afterward, so that furthered the Athena vs. Abadon feud.
Lyra Valkyria def. Izzi DameValkyria's television time on Raw was pretty consistent for her first few months, but she's largely been absent from the show for the last month or so. This is the second match she's had on Main Event recently, so hopefully she doesn't become a regular and instead returns to Raw soon. Meanwhile, Dame has gotten plenty of exposure on NXT TV, Level Up and even in TNA at their Against All Odds event in June, but she has yet to show significant improvement. Valkyria's very talented, but she's no miracle worker. Thus, this was a competent contest at best with the right outcome.
MLW National Openweight Champion Bad Dude Tito Escondido def. Alex Kane in an Opera Cup Quarterfinal Match (Non-Title)I figured Kane would go deeper in the tournament considering he won last year's Opera Cup, but no such luck. It is nice to see Escondido get a push, though. They had a well-wrestled match and the outcome obviously surprised me. This was easily the biggest win Escondido has picked up yet. Hopefully he continues to be spotlighted coming out of the tourney.
