Impact Grand Champion Ethan Carter III and James Storm def. El Hijo del Fantasma and Texano

This match made more sense than the five-way we received on last week's show, but the biggest issue with this IMPACT vs. AAA storyline is that no one seems to be on the same page. Storm and EC3 have their history and established issues, which is fine, but why do Fantasma and Texano have bad blood? I get the feeling that they're allies in the Impact Zone, yet they are for some reason rivals in Mexico. It's made for some really confusing television and matches in recent weeks, and thus I can't say I'm looking forward to the likely six-man tag team match also involving Eddie Edwards and Pagano at Bound for Glory.

GFW World Tag Team Champions oVe def. Phil Atlas and Brett Banks

Similar to the opener, this was match was filmed at another promotion, though no background was given. I understood that oVe had to defend their tag titles in Mexico at CRASH in order to talk to Konnan, but this came out of nowhere. At only three minutes long, it was completely forgettable, but it might have been better off being as short and sweet as it was. As I've said countless times before, oVe continue to do nothing for me as the champions right now.

United States champion Daniel Bryan def. Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler (Non-title)

Long before they were petitioning to wrestle each other one-on-one at a WrestleMania (WrestleMania 29 notwithstanding), Bryan and Ziggler were contesting a stellar series of matches in 2010. What's interesting is that this match was confirmed for the card literally days ahead of the event, but despite not having a build, this match stole the show and was one of the greatest matches all year. The action was exceptional as they went back and forth and had the crowd on their feet the entire time. They had two more matches on Raw and SmackDown the subsequent week, but this was easily the best of the bunch.

The Nexus def. Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre to Win the WWE Tag Team Championship

Nexus here was represented by John Cena and David Otunga, so while they weren't the most cohesive unit, they were still stronger than Rhodes and McIntyre, which is rather sad. Mind you, this match was made on the spot and had no build-up, and Rhodes and McIntyre never received their rematch. Their title reign was completely forgettable and WWE wasted McIntyre after this. The match was merely an angle to further tease tension between Cena and Otunga and get Cena in a match on the show (although he would appear later on in the night).

Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss def. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch

Make no mistake about it, this tag team is merely a vehicle to launch Sabbatell into super stardom eventually. The guy has the look of a star and he has been making strides in the ring. I've never been too high on Moss, but I'd be lying if I said he hasn't improved, too. This was a blast of a bout largely thanks to Lorcan and Burnch, who are so terrific together. They didn't walk away with the win here, but it did make Sabbatelli and Ross look more like a threat.

Nikki Cross Won an NXT Women's Championship Qualifying Battle Royal

A majority of the women who took part in this Battle Royal were from the Mae Young Classic, but only a handful of them are signed to my knowledge. Here's hoping that changes because a lot of them are quite good. With so many women involved, this Battle Royal was a bit sloppy at certain points, but I really liked the final few minutes with Cross, Billie Kay and Bianca Belair (who absolutely shined). Cross was the right choice to advance and I actually don't know who will emerge as the new NXT Women's Champion come TakeOver: War Games.

Ring of Honor Review - October 25, 2017

Marty Scurll def. Jay White

Scurll is so damn great that I still question why Ring of Honor bothered to take the World Television Championship off of him a few months ago. Even though he's no longer the champion, he's continuing to kill it against everyone he faces and White (who is an equally exceptional talent) was no different. They put together an awesome opening match that featured plenty of back-and-forth action and kept the crowd's attention from start to finish. Scurll resorting to dirty tactics to win fits well within his "Villain" persona, but it also gives me hope we'll see a rematch from them eventually.

The Dawgs def. The Tempura Boyz

Yes, "The Dawgs" is the actual team name apparently for Rhett Titus and Will Ferrara. I've heard some dumb tag teams over the years, but that one comes close to leading the list. And no, the true "Big Dawg" Roman Reigns is not a part of it. In all seriousness, this was a nice little match to get over the new duo of Titus and Ferrara. The Tempura Boyz looked much more competitive than I have ever seen them and I hope we see more of them in the future.
