John Cena Confronted Logan PaulCena's promo last week was better, but this was still great mic work from Cena, and I thought Paul once again held his own and played his role well. Cena apologizing to that fan from his first heel promo earlier this year (the kid dressed in the Cena garb that was upset over what Cena was saying) was awesome. This has been the perfect four-week feud and they did their job as far as leaving me more excited for their match at Clash in Paris than I was previously. WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Alexa Bliss def. Chelsea GreenWhat a weird situation. First, Green was announced as filling in for Piper Niven (who was unable to appear for some reason) for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match with Alba Fyre against Bliss and Charlotte Flair. Then, Green and Fyre took out Flair during her entrance, so it turned into Bliss facing Green one-on-one. Bliss won, but Green and Fyre attempted to get their heat back afterward by laying out Bliss and Flair. Bliss vs. Green was decent, but I'm curious what was with all the changes and confusion. Michin def. Kiana JamesThe entrances (which were shockingly televised) lasted way long than the match itself, which ended almost immediately once the bell rang. Michin got James in a quick pin and that was it. I didn't care much for this match to begin with, so I'm not complaining, but with Giulia and James attacking Michin on the steel steps afterward, I also fail to see how this was supposed to get any of them over. Per the commentators, this win earned Michin a shot at Giulia's Women's United States Championship. Randy Orton Attacked Drew McIntyreThe premise of this program is that McIntyre wants to convince Orton that Cody Rhodes is using him and feigning their friendship. I like that they continue to plant the seeds for an Orton heel turn. At this point, I don't see it happening until closer to WrestleMania 42, where they can have a proper WrestleMania match. This was simple stuff that served its purpose. Plus, the crowd got to sing along to Orton's entrance theme and pop for all of the RKOs he hit, so I'd say it was a successful segment. The Street Profits def. Melo Don't Miz in a WWE Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contender's MatchBo Dallas stalked both teams earlier in the evening, but it looks like they specifically didn't want Melo Don't Miz to win for whatever reason, maybe because of their past issues with The Miz or because they're aware Miz is attempting to steal Carmelo Hayes' spotlight. That was a flat finish, but this was a good match otherwise that the crowd was into. Street Profits vs. The Wyatt Sicks for the WWE Tag Team Championship at Clash in Paris feels rushed. Sami Zayn def. Solo Sikoa to Win the United States ChampionshipNeedless to say, this had the usual interference from The MFTs, but once they got past that, this was an entertaining main event. They worked really well together and the crowd was super behind Zayn. I genuinely wasn't expecting a title change, so that was a pleasant surprise, especially since Sikoa's title reign has been a joke for the last two months. That was a cool way to end the episode. Overall ShowThis was a bit of a mixed bag of a show. It started strong with the Cena-Paul segment and the Lyon crowd as obviously electric all night, but even they couldn't give two shits about Michin vs. James or excuse the bizarre booking with what was supposed to be a WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match. Everything else held my interest and they ended on a high note with Zayn becoming the new United States Champion. All in all, I thought it was a solid show heading into Clash in Paris on Sunday.
