Drew McIntyre Confronted The Bloodline Before Being Attacked by Jimmy Uso; The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga) def. Apollo Crews, Andrade and LA KnightSolo Sikoa hyped his Tribal Combat match with Roman Reigns on the first Netflix Raw before McIntyre interrupted him. I know this show was taped last week as well so McIntyre was already in the building, but his back-to-back appearances on SmackDown makes me wonder if he'll be traded to the blue brand as part of this transfer portal in the coming weeks, if only to get revenge on the rest of The O.G. Bloodline (assuming they stay on SmackDown and that's hardly guaranteed). Uso going after McIntyre was interesting because does that mean he'll be cleared to compete sometime soon? The subsequent six-man tag team match was standard stuff and ate up more television time than it needed to, but it did give The Bloodline a decisive win and further Knight's feud with Shinsuke Nakamura (who attacked him at ringside right before the finish). A-Town Down Under Hosted The Grayson Waller Effect with Braun Strowman; Carmelo Hayes def. Strowman by Count-OutThe Grayson Waller Effect was total throwaway and didn't really accomplish anything other than establishing Strowman is a SmackDown Superstar now. It segued into the rematch between Strowman and Hayes, which was a weird match to do because this Hartford already had to sit through their original encounter during the previous taping. This was more competitive but nothing out of the ordinary... WWE Tag Team Champion Johnny Gargano def. Alex ShelleyI'm glad this was advertised a week in advance (it would've been silly for it not to be considering it was taped last week), but it should've felt like a bigger deal than it did and in front of a hotter crowd. What we got was good, but it never reached that next level I know they're capable of. Tommaso Ciampa said he wouldn't be at ringside, so it was a heel move for him to show up at ringside anyway and cost Shelley the win. SmackDown's tag team division continues to heat up at least. WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Bianca Belair and Naomi def. Candice LeRae and WWE Women's Champion Nia JaxNaomi defended the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship on Jade Cargill's behalf, though I'm confused as to whether this officially makes Naomi one-half of the champs now or not (she did celebrate with the belt afterward). Either way, this was a solid main event. The outcome wasn't really in doubt because I'm sure the title change would've been spoiled on social media had it happened, but there was some quality action and Belair and Naomi work well together as partners. We desperately need to get to the next chapter of this story between Jax and Tiffany Stratton because it's grown tiresome and repetitive. Overall ShowYou could tell this was a taped show because the Hartford crowd was lifeless for most of it and absolutely nothing of note happened. I can't say I'm surprised because this was taped before Saturday Night's Main Event and thus nothing could be spoiled. The best part of the show was Kevin Owens' pre-taped promo with the Winged Eagle title belt. Make time for that when you get a chance, but feel free to skip everything else.
