Titan def. MagnusI don't know that it was ever made official, but it was heavily implied on commentator that the winner of this match would be next in line for a shot at the MLW World Middleweight Championship. These was the fast-paced, enjoyable opener you'd expect from these two. I'm familiar with their work from the appearances they've made in AEW and Ring of Honor, so I knew what they were capable of and they didn't disappoint. MLW Women's World Champion Shotzi Blackheart def. KiraI'm not quite sure what Kira did to earn an opportunity at the MLW Women's World Championship, but apparently she's from CMLL. I thought she had a solid showing in what was a decent match, but the title never truly felt like it was in jeopardy of changing hands. Nonetheless, I'm glad Blackheart is a defending champion and has been appearing consistently on Fusion. LaBron Kozone def. OkumuraThis was another straightforward squash for Kozone and I appreciated that he beat someone on the roster (okay, I guess Alan Angels is a member of the roster, but Okumura is definitely more prominently featured than he is). His dominance was on full display and the match was what it needed to be. Okumura usually bores me, so I was in favor of keeping this short and sweet. Rich Bocchini Interviewed MLW World Tag Team Champions The SkyscrapersThis segment confirmed that The Skyscrapers now consist of Donovan Dijak and Josh Bishop with Bishop Dyer now gone from the company. Dijak remains one-half of the MLW World Tag Team Champions, just with Josh Bishop as his partner instead of Dyer. This was a good introduction to the team to establish the change. I think they're going to have nicne chemistry together, as Dijak did with Dyer. Contra Mercs (Mads Krule Krugger and The Good Brothers) def. Contra Unit (MLW World Middleweight Champion Kushida, Ikuro Kwon and Kananga) by DisqualificationContra Mercs is a group that also includes Blackheart. I couldn't care less about Contra at this point, so I hope Krugger and Good Brothers can do away with them on the sooner side. This was a perfectly passable tag team match, but it ended in chaos as you'd expect, resulting in the lame disqualification. Very little of this actually interests me, so this main event was "whatever" in my book. Overall ShowSince the relaunch, Fusion has been at its best whenever Contra Unit isn't a focal point. Therefore, I didn't particularly like this episode because of Contra being in the main event spot, and it's not as if it was an exciting match, anyway. That said, I thought the rest of the show was adequate. The opener and The Skyscrapers' promo were the top two highlights for me while Blackheart's title defense and Kozone's squash served their respective purposes.
