MLW Fusion Review - June 6, 2026

MLW World Heavyweight Champion Killer Kross Addressed the Audience

We didn't get to hear from Kross in the ring on the return episode of Fusion last week, so it was wise to start this show with a promo from him. Granted, he didn't say anything out of the ordinary and his promo was brief, but it was what it needed to be. Plus, he got to hype his defense of MLW World Heavyweight Championship against Matt Riddle for next week's show. I'm glad Kross is finally getting a chance to be himself now that he's back in MLW.

Shotzi Blackheart def. Shoko Nakajima to Win the MLW Women's World Championship

Nakajima has been impressive any time I've seen her in action, but I haven't really connected with her as a character since she never seems to get much promo time and hasn't had any defining feuds. Thus, I'm all for Blackheart taking the title off her. She's had a hot run on the independent scene since leaving WWE and can clearly go in the ring. This was proof of that as they had a very good match.

Mistico def. Diego Hill

I was wondering why Hill picked up a random win on last week's episode and now we know why. It was designed to give him a credibility boost before facing and losing to Mistico here, in what was a fun sprint. Hill had a solid showing in defeat and even got put over by Mistico in Mistico's post-match promo. Mistico is one of MLW's biggest stars, so I'm curious where he goes from here.

Austin Aries Challenged MLW National Openweight Champion Blue Panther

It was logical to have this follow Hill's match where Panther was in Hill's corner because Aries announced his intentions to challenge Panther for the MLW National Openweight Championship. Aries had a hell of a match with Trevor Lee last week, so I have no issue with him setting his sights on some gold. This was short, sweet and exactly what it needed to be.

MLW World Tag Team Champions The Skyscrapers def. The Good Brothers in a Tables Match

Making this a Tables match was interesting. Maybe the idea was to protect Good Brothers from getting pinned or just to add some suspense to the outcome? Either way, this was a nice hoss fight and I appreciated they took their fight into the crowd. There have been rumors recently of Dyer returning to WWE soon, so I thought for sure Good Brothers were becoming champs here, but apparently not.

Overall Show

Fusion is back with a bang as this was a successful second episode as part of the relaunch. The MLW Women's World Championship changing hands was notable, we got a Tables tag team title match in the main event, some setup for Aries vs. Panther and build for Kross vs. Riddle next week. I can get used to this formula for Fusion. It's both enjoyable and efficient, which wasn't always the case with the show during its original run when the authority figure nonsense took center stage (and that's coming from a big fan of Cesar Duran).
