Contra Unit (Mads Krule Krugger and Babathunder) def. The Filthy Bros in a Chicago Street FightThe show actually started with Mister Saint Laurent cutting a promo that Filthy Bros interrupted, which led to an impromptu Street Fight between them and Contra Unit's Krugger and Babathunder. What we got was perfectly fine and didn't overstay its welcome. I was reminded that Krugger has his knockoff Money in the Bank briefcase that he can cash in for an MLW World Heavyweight Championship opportunity anytime he wants, so the question is, why wouldn't he cash in immediately after pinning Riddle here? Donovan Dijak interfered to attack Riddle, so with Krugger brawling with Dijak backstage later on, perhaps Krugger didn't want Dijak getting involved again. I don't know, I'm just spitballing here. Myron Reed def. Ariel Dominguez in a Lightning MatchApparently Lightning matches are a "new" concept by MLW where the match has a 10-minute time limit and could potentially put the winner in line for future title shots. That doesn't really work when most wrestling matches are 10 minutes on average, not to mention this was over in roughly four minutes. I'm all for fun sprints, but this was a rather basic bout for as long as it lasted. At least it gave Reed a win in his return match. Blue Panther Jr. and Dark Panther def. COZYMAX by Count-OutMLW's tag team division is practically nonexistent, so there was no point in keeping Satoshi Kojima and Okumura together and I'm glad they're finally headed toward a split. The match was okay, but the count-out finish was lame. Someone from COZYMAX could've been pinned with that leading to a betrayal of whoever lost from their team. I appreciated that this was kept on the shorter side, though. MLW World Women's Featherweight Champion Shoko Nakajima def. Delmi ExoThis was easily the best thing all night in my opinion. This was all action from start to finish and the crowd was hot for all of it. They may have even topped their original encounter. There was no indication where Exo goes from here (or who will be next to challenge Nakajima), but the fact we got a great match here was all that mattered to me. Joshi wrestling can really help elevate the women's division in MLW. The Bomaye Fight Club (Mr. Thomas and Alex Kane), Matthew Justice and Paul London def. The Rogue Horsemen (Brett Ryan Gosselin, Bobby Fish and The Andersons) in a War Chamber MatchBetween WWE, NXT, MLW and even TNA (it was a 10-man Steel Cage tag team match but it was basically the same thing), I've seen so many WarGames matches in recent years that most of them blend together. Thus, there wasn't anything about this one that stood out, not to mention I couldn't care less about Rogue Horsemen. This ate up a ton of time and they did what they could with the stipulation, but it was decent at best on the whole. Brock Anderson laid out Gosselin afterward, so Rogue Gosselin may already be over. Hey, no complaints. Overall ShowI thought Shotzi would be making her MLW on this show, but I guess that's happening at Summer of the Beasts (which was also taped tonight) later this month instead. Thankfully, this was a significantly shorter show than the other events MLW has done over the last year, so that was a plus. There isn't anything seeking out, but the women stole the show in my opinion.
