Roman Reigns and Bronson Reed Brawled After Exchanging WordsThe international shows allow the Superstars to get lazy with their promos by relying too heavily on the crowd chants, leading to very little of substance actually being said. That was the case with Reigns early on in his promo, and it didn't help that he stumbled over his words a time or two. The segment improved once he was past that with Bronson Reed more than holding his own and the brawl being well done. Dragon Lee def. World Tag Team Champion JD McDonaghI was going to have choice words for this company if Lee wasn't going to lose yet again, this time to McDonagh of all people. Thankfully, he won for a change, even with it was with an assist from AJ Styles. The match was fun even prior to that point. Just continue to give Lee time and let him cook. Styles costing McDonagh resulted in Styles vs. Finn Balor being made official for later on. Kofi Kingston def. PentaThe surprising outcomes continued with Kingston beating Penta. Granted, it shouldn't be that big of a deal with Kingston being a former WWE Champion, but it is when you consider how he's been booked in recent years. Nonetheless, this was a nice match. Kingston winning keeps the feud alive. Perhaps Penta will call in Andrade and Rey Fenix for backup since we haven't seen them since SummerSlam. Nikki Bella Attacked Women's Intercontinental Champion Becky LynchSince it started on the Raw after SummerSlam, Lynch vs. Bella has really exceeded my expectations as a great feud. We'll see how they match up in the ring when they meet for the Women's Intercontinental Championship at Clash in Paris (which was made official in this segment, seemingly replacing the previously-announced Naomi vs. Stephanie Vaquer match), but their promos have delivered so far and this was another entertaining segment from them. Rhea Ripley def. Roxanne PerezWe've already seen these two have a few matches before, but they work well together, so I'm not complaining. This was another quality contest with them. With Perez beating IYO SKY two weeks ago, I thought she might beat Ripley here so she could be considered for whatever the match for the vacant Women's World Championship ends up being, but apparently not. IYO SKY saved Ripley from Perez and Raquel Rodriguez afterward. That obviously won't sit well with Asuka and will only fuel her heel turn. AJ Styles def. Finn BalorStyles and Balor have had enough matches at this point that it doesn't feel remotely as special as it once did, but at least you know you'll get an entertaining encounter from them every time, including here. This mostly existed so Balor could fail to take out Styles before Styles challenges Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship on next week's Raw. Bron Breakker def. LA KnightThey started brawling in the back before the bell even rang because Reigns and Reed resumed their brawl from earlier. Reigns attacking Breakker should've given Breakker an out for losing (and I think he would've been fine despite losing to Jey Uso last week), so Breakker winning was a bit disappointing considering Knight will be a part of the World Heavyweight Championship main event at Clash in Paris (hey, at least it wasn't a disqualification finish). The match itself was good, though. Uso, Knight and CM Punk fighting with each other to close the show felt forced, but I understand the purpose it was suppose to serve with it being a Fatal 4-Way on Sunday and not a Handicap match. Overall ShowPersonally, I didn't mind this show as much as most, but you can definitely tell WWE tends it phone it in a bit more whenever they're overseas. This wasn't a bad edition of Raw necessarily as I enjoyed the in-ring action, but it was a pretty paint-by-numbers effort and didn't exactly leave me more excited for Clash in Paris than I already was. I think the event has potential on paper and hopefully it can be enhanced by the atmosphere in Paris.
