Jey Uso Saved Sami Zayn From Drew McIntyreJust when I thought the issues were over between Zayn and McIntyre after Saturday Night's Main Event, they did an excellent job of heating their feud up again with a strong segment here. They effectively set up their rematch for the night's main event and reminded viewers that Zayn has never beaten McIntyre. Uso returning for the first time since McIntyre attacked him three weeks ago was a pleasant surprise. IYO SKY def. Natalya and Alba Fyre in a Women's Intercontinental Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Triple Threat MatchI was convinced Sonya Deville would replace Kairi Sane since Pure Fusion Collective were the ones who took Sane out, but I'm glad Adam Pearce had enough sense to not reward the group for what they did. SKY was a suitable replacement for Sane, but I personally don't want to see her advance to the finals over Lyra Valkyria (even though SKY vs. Dakota Kai would be interesting since they're both members of Damage CTRL). This was a good Triple Threat between three talented women. Chad Gable def. Akira TozawaIt was made clear during a backstage segment on last week's show that Gable is going back after Alpha Academy for some reason. I guess because they besmirched the Alpha Academy name? He said he'd start with Tozawa, but this really doesn't need to be a lengthy program considering Gable already feuded with them earlier in the year. We just need to get to Gable vs. Otis and be done with it. This was a basic bout and there was yet another tease for Gable vs. Otis afterward. Damian Priest def. "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio by DisqualificationSimilar to Gable vs. Alpha Academy, this is another feud I desperately want to see end. WWE needs to blow off Priest vs. Finn Balor as soon as possible. We've seen Priest vs. Mysterio enough times this year, so this really wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Balor attacked Priest for the disqualification before The War Raiders made the save. Priest and War Raiders will face The Judgment Day in a six-man tag team match next week. Seth "Freakin" Rollins Addressed CM Punk in a Sit-Down Interview with Jackie RedmondPunk is definitely winning the war of words in this rivalry with Rollins. Punk's sit-down interview with Redmond two weeks ago was better than the one Rollins had here, but it was a solid segment nonetheless as far as hyping up his anticipated match with Punk for the first Raw on Netflix. It was announced that Punk and Rollins will be back "under one roof" for next week's show. Dexter Lumis def. The Miz by DisqualificationIf we were going to get one member from The Wyatt Sicks up against someone from the heel crew they're feuding with at the moment, it's cool that it was Lumis vs. Miz given their history from two years ago. Unfortunately, there wasn't much to the match before the non-finish. The crowd was quiet, so at least this was kept on the shorter side and didn't overstay its welcome. Kofi Kingston's Mother Walked Out on The New DayI was disappointed New Day were left off last week's Raw despite being advertised, but I imagine that was by design to add to their frustration as heels. Kingston obviously has ties to Boston, but that didn't stop this crowd from booing them out of the building. It was glorious. Kingston's mother was fantastic in her role by refusing to hug her son and then walking out on them. The stuff with New Day continues to be one of the best parts of the show. Drew McIntyre def. Sami ZaynAll the talk of Zayn never having defeated McIntyre before made me think Zayn might finally win here, but I'm actually happy that didn't happen and that McIntyre won clean. That way, Zayn can get that elusive victory over McIntyre to become world champion for the first time down the road. They had their usual quality contest. If Jey was going to come out afterward regardless, his return may as well have been saved for here instead the opening segment. The Bloodline also emerged to lay out Zayn and Jey. I assumed that was done to hype Solo Sikoa's Tribal Combat match with Roman Reigns for Raw in two weeks. Overall ShowThis week's show was taped immediately following last week's in Boston, but this felt a lot less like a taped show than Friday's SmackDown in that there weren't an abundance of video packages and replays. What we did get was enjoyable and set the stage for the next few weeks of Raw. Not everything was a home run, but the two hours were entertaining enough and several storylines were progressed.
