World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and Bron Breakker Faced OffThe Vision started the show (including Austin Theory, who is now an official member of the faction), but a bulk of this segment was Breakker and Punk going back and forth on the mic. This is exactly what I've been waiting for since Breakker vs. Punk was originally announced way back in late November. Both guys delivered strong promos and successfully looking forward to their World Heavyweight Championship clash next week. Women's World Champion Stephanie Vaquer def. Nikki Bella and Raquel RodriguezRodriguez told Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez beforehand she didn't want help, hence why they didn't interfere despite the lack of disqualifications. Then again, they could have interfered anyway and further teased tension in The Judgment Day, which would have gotten us closer to the group breaking up. At any rate, this was a good Triple Threat. The crowd was quiet for portions of it, but the three of them worked hard. Does Vaquer stealing the win from Rodriguez means we'll see more from them soon? Personally, I prefer to see Vaquer move on to Morgan. Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY Attacked WWE Women's Tag Team Champions The Kabuki WarriorsWe've pretty much seen it all from these two teams over the last three months since the storyline started, so this was hardly anything new. Rather, it was basic segment to further the feud and build toward next week's WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match. I actually thought Ripley and SKY's pre-taped promo that aired later on was more effective than this was, but at least it was quick. Gunther def. R-TruthThis was Gunther's first match since beating John Cena at Saturday Night's Main Event. It was logical for him to face Truth considering his history with Cena, even though Truth is a member of the SmackDown brand (hey, that hasn't stopped WWE before). It was the straightforward squash that it should have been. Gunther didn't get as much heat as you'd expect, so hopefully it's not long before he's working with bigger names again. Rey Mysterio def. Austin Theory by DisqualificationFirst and foremost, Theory's new entrance is awesome. It makes me feel like more of a star than he truly is at the moment, but perhaps he'll grown into it depending on how he's pushed. This was a quality contest between them. The disqualification finish was disappointing, but I get it in wanting to protect both guys. Penta returning afterward to save Mysterio from Theory and Logan Paul was a cool moment. Becky Lynch Confronted Women's Intercontinental Champion Maxxine DupriThis was another top-notch verbal exchange between these two. Lynch is obviously a better talker than Dupri, but I thought Dupri once again held her own while Lynch did her usual excellent work. Unlike last week, their segment didn't end in physicality and that's fine. The outcome to their rematch feels genuinely unpredictable because I could very well see it going either way. The Usos def. AJ Styles and Dragon Lee to Win the World Tag Team ChampionshipThis was a blast of a main event to end the year with on Raw. They had the terrific chemistry you'd expect and the action only got more entertaining as it progressed, culminating in a hot final stretch and the surprise title change. I say "surprise" because I thought The Usos might be in chase mode for a little longer, but you'll get no complaints out of me. Not only is the tag team division where The Usos belong for now, this also frees up Styles to be on his own for what he has said will be his final year wrestling. Overall ShowThis was an average edition of Raw on the whole with the highlights being the opening segment and the main event. Both of those are worth seeking out in my opinion. The goal of this show was to hype up the loaded first Raw of 2026 and that was accomplished in my opinion. Raw had a great year in 2025 and I hope WWE can keep the momentum rolling into the new year.
