Monday Night Raw Review - July 20, 2026

World Tag Team Champions The Vision (Bron Breakker and Austin Theory) def. Dragon Lee and Je'Von Evans (Non-Title)

Well, this was random, but I'm not complaining for a few reasons. First of all, it was a damn fun sprint. Second of all, I can't think of the last time a match kicked off Raw. I'm always down for WWE switching up the tired formula of their shows. Lee and Evans worked well together as partners and shined on offense before eating defeat. The Vision laying out Alpha Academy afterward was a basic angle, but it did further the feud effectively. I have no words regarding Breakker's booking at this point, by the way.

Joe Hendry Saved Danhausen from The Judgment Day

I thought Danhausen beating JD McDonagh at Saturday Night's Main Event would mark the end of his rivalry with Judgment Day, but apparently not. I love Danhausen, but I feel like Judgment Day should be involved in something more meaningful. This was a simple segment to set up Hendry facing Dominik Mysterio later in the night. Yes, WWE is establishing an alliance between the two biggest "meme" wrestlers in the company. I might be in the minority on this, but I don't hate the idea of them teaming if they don't have anything else in mind for Hendry at the moment.

Oba Femi def. JD McDonagh

This was the definition of a squash. It had to have lasted less than a minute. Considering it was McDonagh who Femi faced, that made total sense. I thought we might hear from Femi afterward, but nope, nothing. Hey, that's totally fine because it's not like there's much left for him to say about Brock Lesnar before they battle inside Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam. Keeping this short and sweet was the way to go.

Solo Sikoa and Seth Rollins Faced Off Before Rollins Attacked Jacob Fatu

Sikoa isn't completely in babyface mode at the moment, but he should be trending in that direction. It was logical for him to attempt to recruit Rollins in taking down The Bloodline since he's challenging Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, as well as for Rollins to not immediately accept his offer. We'll see if Rollins attacking Fatu here will lead to Fatu interfering in Rollins vs. Reigns (I hope not).

Chad Gable and Intercontinental Champion Penta def. Rusev and Ethan Page

Gable lost a tag team match to Rusev and Page two weeks ago, so this was pretty much the same thing, except with Penta filling in for Lee. It was the well-worked match you'd expect from these four. It was more important for Penta and Gable to go over ahead of their Intercontinental Championship clash at SummerSlam. Their story sells itself, so I'm fine with them not teasing tension beforehand.

Joe Hendry def. AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio (Non-Title)

It's hard to believe that it was less than a year ago that Mysterio pinned John Cena to win the Intercontinental Championship. Not only did he lose to Hendry here, it was subsequently announced that it will be him against Danhausen at SummerSlam. Seriously. If you needed any evidence as to why it should be a one-night show, there you go. I'm happy for Hendry, but the match was whatever and it felt like the focus was more on Mysterio losing than him winning, even if the interference from Liv Morgan and IYO SKY.

Jacob Fatu def. LA Knight

I really enjoyed their WrestleMania match last year. While this wasn't quite on par with that, it was still a solid main event, even though the focus was largely on all of the chaos with The Usos, Solo Sikoa and Royce Keys at ringside. Knight eats yet another loss, but I can't say I'm shocked. The Bloodline stood tall to close the show as the confusing character dynamic continues.

Overall Show

What an oddly-paced edition of Raw. I appreciated that they started the show with a match for a change, but everything else that followed lacked life (despite the crowd being hot throughout the night), resulting in a fairly poor episode overall. It almost felt as if they threw this show together at the last minute, which is concerning considering SummerSlam is less than two weeks away. I'm sold on the main matches, but the undercard needs work.
