Monday Night Raw Review - July 27, 2026

Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar's Hell in a Cell Weigh-In Descended Into Chaos

Weigh-ins in wrestling never really work, and this one was no exception to the usual silliness, but they managed to get away with it because they've had a hot feud and both guys are over. The crowd certainly didn't mind seeing Femi destroy some policemen. It wasn't a special segment by any means, and Triple H's presence was completely unnecessary, but it was a fine final sell for their Hell in a Cell clash at SummerSlam.

World Tag Team Champions The Vision (Bron Breakker and Austin Theory) def. Alpha Academy (Non-Title)

I'm surprised this wasn't saved for SummerSlam so Breakker could make the card. I'm even more surprised Alpha Academy didn't win to earn them a shot at the World Tag Team Championship or to set up Theory vs. Otis one-on-one this weekend. Neither of those things appear to be happening. This was a perfectly fine matchup and more heat was put on The Vision, but Breakker continues to feel grossly underutilized in this role.

Je'Von Evans def. Rusev

We've seen these two face off before and this was another quality contest from them. I know Rusev eliminated Evans from the recent Gauntlet match they were both involved in, so that's probably how this match came about, but it didn't seem to serve a purpose otherwise. The timing was especially weird with it being the SummerSlam go-home show, but it was a nice win for Evans, nonetheless.

The Judgment Day and Ryan Garcia Crashed Joe Hendry and Danhausen's Concert

Good lord. This genuinely may have been the worst wrestling television segment I've seen so far this year. Don't get me wrong, I love both Hendry and Danhausen, but to say this did not work whatsoever would be putting it lightly. In fact, it made me less interested in the SummerSlam match between Danhausen and Mysterio and I wasn't all that interested in it to begin with. I also had no idea who Garcia was and now I wish I didn't after having read up on him. Hopefully this wasn't Danhausen's shtick jumping the shark.

Ethan Page def. Rey Mysterio

This was a rematch from a few weeks ago. They haven't actively been feuding since then, but I'm glad they had a chance to run it back because this was an enjoyable outing. Page has been racking up more losses than wins as of late, so this was huge for him. I don't know if this will amount to anything, but it should. I still think he should win the Intercontinental Championship at some point, so it's important to ensure he maintains momentum in the meantime.

Royce Keys Saved LA Knight and Solo Sikoa from The Bloodline

Sikoa showing more personality than ever before in his WWE career has been the highlight of this rather confusing story in recent weeks. Knight was also funny with what he had to say, so it ended up being a good segment on the whole heading into the six-man tag team match at SummerSlam. As I've said before, it would insanely stupid for WWE to have Sikoa turn on his team and rejoin The Bloodline, so fingers crossed this isn't a ruse.

Raquel Rodriguez def. Sol Ruca to Win the Women's Intercontinental Championship

Considering Ruca and Rodriguez already collided for the Women's Intercontinental title a few weeks ago, I figured Rodriguez would take the title this time and that's exactly what happened. It was a cool moment for Rodriguez, but I am disappointed that Ruca wasn't given more to do as champ and that her reign was cut short. The match was decent, and the involvement from IYO SKY and The Judgment Day was apparently enough to hype up SKY vs. Liv Morgan at SummerSlam (spoiler: it wasn't).

Seth Rollins Attacked World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns

If you were looking forward to another verbal exchange from Rollins and Rollins, you were likely let down by Rollins doing all the talking once he came out. What Rollins had to say was solid, but this segment didn't quite reach that next level for me. Rollins standing tall over Reigns was logical to give fans the idea he could beat Reigns at SummerSlam (even though it's obvious he won't).

Overall Show

I don't find Raw as unwatchable as most people seem to, but I'd be lying if I said this wasn't one of the most embarrassing efforts from Raw all year. The timing was terrible with SummerSlam being this weekend and this subpar show doing virtually nothing to get me excited for it (and I'll be in attendance!). There were aspects of this episode that I liked, but some of that stuff had nothing to do with the pay-per-view, which made for a very disjointed go-home show.
