LA Knight Confronted Seth Rollins Before Being Attacked by Jimmy UsoRollins is at his best on the mic when he's a straightforward, no-nonsense babyface, and this was another good promo from him. I appreciated Knight's intensity when he came out and how he made so many logical points about both Rollins and Roman Reigns. In addition to this being a nice use of Rollins in Reigns' absence, I'm just happy Knight is involved in something (somewhat) meaningful again. I don't know when or if we'll get this match, but they definitely left me looking forward to seeing it. Uso attacking Knight at the end was him getting payback for Knight laying him out last week. Around and around we go. The Vision (Austin Theory and Bron Breakker) def. The Street Profits to Win the World Tag Team ChampionshipI was hoping this would be where The Vision lost their tag title rematch and Breakker would have to turn on Theory and leave the group after realizing he's better off without them, but alas, that did not happen. The match we got was fine, and even with Maxxine Dupri officially joining The Vision, I can't say I'm optimistic about The Vision's future, especially with Breakker holding the pointless tag titles again. Paul Heyman still treated them like losers afterward, so none of this seemed to make much of a difference. Women's Intercontinental Champion Sol Ruca def. Raquel RodriguezRuca last defended her Women's Intercontinental Championship on television about a month ago. I don't think she's wrestled since then, which is ridiculous. You can't keep her momentum going if she's not actively on the show. She and Rodriguez had a decent match, but it didn't sound like the crowd really cared until IYO SKY showed up to thwart The Judgment Day's interference. Oba Femi Confronted Paul HeymanOne of the issues with dragging out this rivalry for as long as WWE has is that there isn't a whole lot for Femi, Heyman or even Brock Lesnar to say at this point. Lesnar wasn't present for this segment, so what we got from Femi and Heyman was fairly dull because it wasn't anything new. I'm ready for Femi to beat Lesnar at SummerSlam so we can move on from this feud. Rusev and Ethan Page def. Dragon Lee and Chad GableIt was announced earlier in the evening that there will be a Gauntlet match next week on Raw to determine Penta's Intercontinental Championship challenger at SummerSlam, so this served as a preview for that. Lee and Gable had quality chemistry as partners, but it made more sense to put heat on the heels here. It was a fun matchup for as long as it lasted. CM Punk def. Sami Zayn to Win the Undisputed WWE ChampionshipAs soon as Cody Rhodes was attacked by Gunther backstage at the start of the show, it was obvious that he'd be replaced by the returning Punk in his hometown of Chicago. Sure enough, that's exactly what happened. Punk looks like a total asshole for walking right back into a title shot without earning it, so hopefully the plan is for him to go heel at some point. As bad as I feel for Zayn, I didn't think he'd have a lengthy reign to begin with, so I'm just glad he had the belt at all. That's to take nothing away from how awesome of a main event this was. I appreciate that this went for a while and wasn't a quick angle as I feared it would be. Overall ShowI thought this show started well enough and ended on a high note. It lost a little energy in the middle with nothing standing out (it's almost impossible to give a shit about anything involving The Vision at this point), but the big Punk return and Undisputed WWE title change salvaged this edition of Raw. The big names will be back next week with Reigns and Lesnar being advertised.
