Sami Zayn Confronted CM PunkPunk pretty much being a regular on Raw for the last month has been cool to see. This segment not only hyped his Money in the Bank qualifier for later in the night but established that he and Zayn must be a united front if they have any hope of taking down Seth Rollins' crew. I really enjoyed what we got from them here and thought it served as an effective hook for the rest of the show. Stephanie Vaquer def. Ivy Nile and WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan in a Triple Threat Match to Qualify for the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder MatchVaquer only lost the NXT Women's Championship last Tuesday and has already been declared the latest addition to the Raw roster. Of all the women called up from NXT lately, Vaquer has the highest ceiling in my opinion and she was immediately over with this crowd. I thought Morgan might qualify, but I have no complaints about Vaquer advancing instead. This was a well-worked Triple Threat designed to allow Vaquer to shine. The Judgment Day (Finn Balor and JD McDonagh) def. The War RaidersThis was at least the third tag team match Balor has won in the last few months, yet he can't win a singles match to save his life (tomorrow actually marks one year since his last singles win on WWE TV). Nonetheless, this was a good match from these teams. Balor had Roxanne Perez provide an assist, so it's too bad for War Raiders' sake that they have no backup with Sarah Logan/Valhalla announcing earlier today that her contract isn't being renewed. Will Judgment Day re-enter the World Tag Team Championship conversation or was this just part of the story with Perez proving herself to the group? Women's Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch BrawledThese two continue to knock it out of the park every chance they get. I liked the Lynch vignette from earlier in the episode and Valkyria's fiery rebuttal here was excellent. The "What?" chants from a portion of the crowd were obnoxious and unnecessary, but that aside, this was a strong segment that built toward their rematch at Money in the Bank. Lynch really is doing everything she can to help get Valkyria over and so far it's working. World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso and Sami Zayn def. Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed by DisqualificationI'm slightly surprised this wasn't saved for another time or even for Money in the Bank with Punk and Zayn taking on Breakker and Reed since none of them will be a part of the men's Ladder match. I don't want WWE to run this rivalry into the ground with a million tag team matches like what we got with The Judgment Day two years ago. That said, this was a solid match with a logical non-finish that set up what would happen at the end of the show. Kairi Sane def. WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Raquel RodriguezThis was the second straight singles win Sane has scored on WWE TV. Shockingly, the sky isn't falling, but speaking of sky, I assume this is leading to IYO SKY and Sane challenging Morgan and Rodriguez for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, even though those belts serve no purpose at this point. The match was fine, but the crowd was more concerned with chanting for the recently-released R-Truth. El Grande Americano def. AJ Styles and CM Punk in a Triple Threat Match to Qualify for the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder MatchStyles getting pinned on his birthday is wild, and I say that as someone whose birthday is also June 2nd. In all seriousness, this was the entertaining Triple Threat you'd expect from these three, especially for the first-ever one-on-one interaction between Punk and Styles in WWE. I've gotten a kick out of Grande Americano, but I don't think he needed to be a part of Money in the Bank if he was already wrestling at Worlds Collide earlier in the day. The show-closing angle was well done, and you have to imagine Roman Reigns will be returning soon to help the babyfaces get revenge on the heels. Overall ShowI didn't mention it before, but there was a fantastic video packaged that aired hyping Uso vs. Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship on next week's Raw along with an intense backstage segment with them prior to the main event. WWE has had the tall task of hyping that, Worlds Collide and Money in the Bank simultaneously, but all in all, I think they've done a nice job. This was an adequate edition of Raw that accomplished what it needed to and I appreciated the show-long story thread.
