Monday Night Raw Review - June 29, 2026

Brock Lesnar Attacked Oba Femi; Femi Accepted Lesnar's Hell in a Cell Challenge for SummerSlam

Well, this was quite the unexpected development. Lesnar outright admitting that he doesn't watch the show got a pop out of me, and that would explain why he hasn't shown up since beating Femi at Clash in Italy despite Femi constantly calling him out. Lesnar was actually hilarious here. But Femi forgoing his guaranteed title shot at SummerSlam to face Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell instead? Yeah, that's an, uh, interesting approach. I'm definitely not sold, as I'd prefer to see Femi challenging for and winning a world title at SummerSlam, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited for Femi vs. Lesnar in Hell in a Cell.

Rey Mysterio def. Ethan Page

I like that Page beat Dragon Lee on last week's show so he had some momentum coming into this contest. It also made the outcome more unpredictable. This was a good match from these two and I appreciated that it was a straightforward win for Mysterio. I'm not thrilled with Page racking up more wins than losses lately, so hopefully this isn't a sign that he's going to get lost in the shuffle following his failure to win the Intercontinental Championship.

Austin Theory Interrupted Joe Hendry's Concert with World Tag Team Champions The Street Profits; Hendry def. Theory

The Raw (and SmackDown, for that matter) tag team division is so depleted that the Profits had to settle for taking part in a lame concert instead of welcoming any competition to their newly-won World Tag Team Championship. I usually get a kick out of Hendry's concerts, but this wasn't one of his better ones. The subsequent match between Theory and Hendry was fine. At least it gave Hendry a victory.

The Judgment Day Attacked IYO SKY

This was exactly why I didn't want Liv Morgan making the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament. We already saw SKY and Morgan interact prior to Night of Champions and I can't say I'm excited to see them have more segments like this leading into SummerSlam. This was serviceable albeit forgettable. Will SKY get help in the form of the returning Stephanie Vaquer?

Jimmy Uso def. LA Knight

You had to know Uso was winning the moment this was announced because we just saw Knight beat Uso last week. They had another average outing that was once again all about the finish. Jey Uso's distraction cost Knight the victory, but Solo Sikoa evening the odds afterward resulted in Knight standing tall over The Usos. As I've said, I have no idea where this is going, and it's very possible WWE has no idea, either, but I am admittedly mildly intrigued.

Raquel Rodriguez def. Maxxine Dupri

Although Dupri gave off heel vibes while rejecting Chad Gable's apology last week, she was back in babyface mode this week, both backstage with Gable and during the bout with Rodriguez. You could practically hear a pin drop, the crowd was that quiet. I can't say I'm surprised, as any momentum Rodriguez seemed to have while teasing tension with Morgan earlier this year is long gone. This only existed to give Rodriguez a victory before she challenges Sol Ruca for the Women's Intercontinental Championship soon.

Chad Gable def. JD McDonagh

Gable is still over with the audience despite the awful new entrance music. Bless him. Anyway, the crowd didn't reach to much early on, but they got more into the action as it progressed. This was a fun, well-wrestled match from Gable and McDonagh. They were hitting each other hard down the stretch specifically. Meanwhile, Danhausen's feud with The Judgment Day is bound to culminate in some sort of matchup at Saturday Night's Main Event in New York City.

World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns Accepted Seth Rollins' Challenge for SummerSlam

Rollins beating Bron Breakker at Night of Champions felt like it was designed to set him up to challenge Reigns at SummerSlam, and that became clear once Femi relinquished his title shot at the beginning of this show. Thus, I'm glad Rollins didn't waste any time interrupting Reigns. We hardly heard from Reigns, but Rollins' promo recapping their history was fantastic. As much as I want to see one of the fresher faces face Reigns for the title at SummerSlam, Reigns vs. Rollins is a major match WWE still needed to do eventually, and this simply allows them to get it over with on a big stage.

Overall Show

This was certainly an eventful edition of Raw, if only for the opening and closing segments. I don't love how they're treating the King of the Ring title shot, but Femi vs. Lesnar and Reigns vs. Rollins are two appealing attractions for SummerSlam and I appreciate that they announced them both a month out from the event. The middle portion of the show was mediocre and lacked life, making for a mixed bag on the whole.
