World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and Logan Paul Brawled with Bron Breakker and Bronson ReedPunk nicely set the tone for his title reign by addressing several potential challengers, all of whom were more appealing options in my opinion than Paul. We've never gotten Punk vs. Paul one-on-one before and the promos have potential to be strong, but the logic doesn't make much sense since Paul lost the last time we saw him on WWE TV (against John Cena at Clash in Paris). I would've had more to stay about him teasing turning face, but that was obviously revealed to be a ruse at the end of the night. The Judgment Day (Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez) def. Nikki Bella and Women's World Champion Stephanie VaquerBella and Vaquer have been buddies since Vaquer debuted on the main roster over the summer, so this was a logical match to do with Perez and Rodriguez targeting Vaquer and her Women's World Championship at the moment. They had a good match and Perez picking up the win for her team was a pleasant surprise, especially since it will be Rodriguez challenging Vaquer for the title on next week's Raw. You have to know Bella is betraying Vaquer before long. Penta def. El Grande AmericanoI groaned when I saw this match announced on social media because it feels like the same few people have been stuck in a vortex with the Americanos and Judgment Day. Sure, this was a fun match, but I'd really like to see Penta start working with some fresh faces. On the bright side, Penta went over as he should have and was super over with this crowd. Now that he's failed to win the Intercontinental Championship multiple times, I do worry what's next for him. Rey Mysterio Attacked Intercontinental Champion and AAA Mega Champion Rey MysterioRey had been out injured for so long that he wasn't even on the mind coming into this segment, but I love him apparently being next in line for a shot at Dominik's title, especially if they have their match at Survivor Series since both guys are from San Diego. They've been involved with each other a lot in the last three years, but it's been a while since we last saw them interact if I remember correctly. This segment was exactly what it needed to be and the crowd ate it up. Women's Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch Addressed Maxxine DupriIt's been a few weeks since Lynch was last on Raw, so I was glad to see her back. She cut a hell of a promo here addressing Dupri that built toward their already-confirmed rematch for the Women's Intercontinental Championship. I never thought I'd actually care about a Lynch vs. Dupri feud, but they've done a commendable job of making it interesting. Now the question is when the match will happen. The Kabuki Warriors def. Lyra Valkyria and BayleyBetween these two teams and the duo of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, this is the most important WWE's women's tag team division has felt in years. You can even throw Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY in there, too. This was another great tag team match with terrific work from all four women. This is clearly setting up women's WarGames, but the heels feel outnumbered, so I'm curious what the ultimate lineup will look like. World Tag Team Champions AJ Styles and Dragon Lee def. The Judgment Day (JD McDonagh and Finn Balor)While wasn't as hot as as their original encounter two weeks ago, it was an enjoyable sprint, nonetheless. Styles and Lee have wonderful chemistry as partners and Balor and McDonagh, despite being booked terribly while World Tag Team Champions, never cease to deliver in the ring. All of that said, this was more about establishing more tension within Judgment Day's ranks with Dominik's interference being thwarted by Sheamus. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed Ended in a Double Count-OutWe've gotten a lot of tag team matches like this in the main event of Raw this year (specifically involving The Vision) and this one wasn't much different than the rest. Worse yet, it had a lame double count-out finish. I realize it was designed to protect all four guys, but surely Uso could've taken a clean loss here. Paul coming to Punk's aid afterward only to hit him with brass knuckles was extremely predictable. If this is leading to men's WarGames, it feels forced. Why the hell would Breakker and Reed want to team with Paul, even if they all have issues with Punk? Overall ShowFirst and foremost, props to the crowd for being electric all night. They made this show more entertaining than it already was. The returns of Paul and Mysterio were newsworthy as well, and it appears the seeds have been planted for the two WarGames matches at Survivor Series. The John Cena tournament didn't kick off, but it will next week and the first two matches were announced. I wasn't a fan of the main event or how they went off the air, but this was a thumbs-up episode otherwise in my book.
