Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and Paul Heyman Confronted Adam Pearce and Explained Their Betrayal of RollinsPearce officially relinquished Seth Rollins of the World Heavyweight Championship, so we won't be seeing him for the foreseeable future after he was betrayed by the rest of The Vision last week. Speaking of which, it's worth noting that they weren't referred to as The Vision here. The explanation was good, though it is interesting that Breakker and Heyman claimed it was the plan the whole time to betray Rollins and not a spur-of-the-moment thing despite how Reed and Heyman reacted last week. AJ Styles and Dragon Lee def. The Judgment Day (Finn Balor and JD McDonagh) to Win the World Tag Team ChampionshipStyles and Lee have worked well together as partners in the past, so it was hardly surprising they once again had great chemistry here. This was a hot opener with excellent action and a terrific finishing sequence. Judgment Day's run as World Tag Team Champions was abysmal, so hopefully Styles and Lee will defend the tag titles a bit more frequently (however long their reign lasts). Intercontinental Champion and AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio def. Rusev (AAA Mega Championship Was Not Defended)This was along the same lines as their last encounter a few weeks ago. Mysterio is getting cheered more and more by the week, so don't be shocked to see WWE put him up against more heels going forward (with a split from Judgment Day being imminent as well). This was another well-worked match from these two and a similar finish with Mysterio finding a way to win and Penta laying out Rusev afterward. Maxxine Dupri def. Women's Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch by DisqualificationWhile this wasn't as exciting as their previous outing, Dupri was once again impressive and it helped that Dupri is a Sacramento native (where this show emanated from) as the crowd was behind her throughout. It was a quality contest on the whole and the disqualification finish sets up the need for another rematch at some point. By the way, where the hell has AJ Lee been? Women's World Champion Stephanie Vaquer def. Roxanne Perez (Non-Title)We've seen Vaquer and Perez mix it up before and this wasn't one of their better matches together. It wasn't awful or anything like that, but knowing what they're capable of, it was slightly disappointing and not as smooth as it could have been. Plus, Perez was hardly a threat to Vaquer considering how she's been booked by and large as of late. Vaquer and Nikki Bella vs. Perez and Raquel Rodriguez is clearly coming based on the post-match angle. Jey Uso Won a Battle Royal to Advance to the World Heavyweight Championship Match at Saturday Night's Main EventBreakker and Reed being removed from the Battle Royal before it started was completely stupid. It hurts their momentum to not be involved in the World Heavyweight Championship picture at the moment and to shift to Punk vs. Uso instead, which is not a marquee attraction for Saturday Night's Main Event in my opinion. We'll see what they have in mind. As for the Battle Royal, it was one of the more enjoyable ones I've seen in recent memory with some stories furthered and an unpredictable outcome. Overall ShowComing off the electric ending to last week's show, the follow-up should have been bigger. We found out what the World Heavyweight Championship match will be for Saturday Night's Main Event, but Punk vs. Uso isn't going to inspire a lot of enthusiasm among fans. The rest of the show was solid but more of the same. At least the three title matches made the show stand out more than usual and I appreciated the pacing.
