The Vision Interrupted Jey Uso and LA KnightUso and Knight both admitted to being losers at Clash in Paris but almost came to blows before Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed (sans Paul Heyman) interrupted them. While the verbal exchange was fine and there wasn't anything wrong with the segment, it felt predictable as far as setting up the tag team main event. It doesn't help that we tend to see this sort of segment every week to open Raw. The Kabuki Warriors def. The Judgment Day (Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez)Judgment Day won the last time we saw this match two months ago, so I assume Kabuki Warriors avenged the loss here because they're going to be facing IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley soon. Asuka will firmly be a heel by then, but she was beloved by this crowd. It was a quality contest while it lasted with the two teams once again working well together. World Tag Team Champion Finn Balor def. Dragon LeeI feel like Lee has been feuding with The Judgment Day for over a year at this point. I love that he's been getting so much television time lately, and I was happy when he beat JD McDonagh last week, but as expected, his success was short-lived. This was a nice match between the two, but other than giving Judgment Day some of their heat back, it didn't really accomplish anything or provide any idea of what's next for them as World Tag Team Champions. Penta and The War Raiders def. The New Day and Grayson WallerLogically, you'd think Penta would've called upon his brother Rey Fenix and Andrade to combat New Day and Waller, but instead he went with War Riaders...for some reason. Nothing against War Raiders, but what was stopping Fenix and Andrade from appearing? It's not like we don't see Superstars from SmackDown on Raw regularly. Nonetheless, this was a fun match. I'm ready for Penta to move on and do something more significant, though. Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio def. AJ StylesI was hoping this would be slotted as the main event to increase the odds of the championship changing hands (similar to SmackDown last Friday), but no such luck. I actually enjoyed this more than their match at SummerSlam, which felt like a giant love letter to Eddie Guerrero and little more. That said, I hated the interference from El Grande Americano, a gimmick that feels like it's spinning its wheels at this point until Chad Gable is ready to return (and that won't be anytime soon to my knowledge). I understand Americano will probably factor into the finish of Mysterio vs. Vikingo at Worlds Collide next Friday, but where does this leave Styles? Women's Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch Embarrassed CM PunkWhat a stellar segment. Punk wanted Seth Rollins but got Lynch instead, leading to a strong verbal exchange between the two. Lynch embarrassing Punk by repeatedly hitting him and Punk refusing to hit her back perfectly sets up AJ Lee returning to even the odds, ideally on SmackDown this Friday seeing as how it'll be emanating from Punk's native Chicago. We've been burned before when we held out hope for her coming back, but it feels real this time and should make for an awesome moment ahead of the expected mixed tag team match at Wrestlepalooza. The Vision (Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed) def. Jey Uso and LA KnightTruthfully, this didn't feel much different than most main events we've gotten involving The Vision since WrestleMania 41. The crowd was behind the babyfaces, but the action was average and nothing out of the ordinary. I'm glad we got a decisive finish at least with the heels going over. Jimmy Uso made the save for Jey afterward, so it looks like The Usos will be reuniting to take on Breakker and Reed in the absence of Roman Reigns. Overall ShowAlthough parts of this show felt phoned in with it being the Labor Day holiday in the United States and it airing in the afternoon as a result of it emanating from Paris, this was still a slight step up from previous weeks and an entertaining effort on the whole. Storylines were progressed heading into Wrestlepalooza (which is less than three weeks away) and the segment with Punk and Lynch is well worth checking out. Plus, the Paris crowd was electric all episode long and that made a major difference.
