John Cena Addressed Brock LesnarCena making a final appearance in Springfield was cool considering his history there, even though he didn't do much outside of addressing the audience and hyping his Wrestlepalooza match with Brock Lesnar. Speaking of the latter, WWE has done a poor job explaining why they're even feuding at the moment, so we can only hope we'll hear more from Lesnar when he appears on SmackDown again this Friday. Lyra Valkyria def. Roxanne PerezValkyria lost to Raquel Rodriguez on last week's Raw, so it made sense for Valkyria to bounce back with a win here. Unfortunately, Perez continues to lose a lot, so it doesn't all that much for Perez to beat here. The match itself was as well-wrestled as you'd expect considering the level of talent involved. Bayley returned afterward and helped Valkyria fend off Perez and Rodriguez before hugging everyone at ringside, so it looks like she is indeed going with the split personality gimmick that she teased. Hopefully it pans out and doesn't fall flat. Penta def. Kofi KingstonPenta previously lost to Kingston one-on-one after beating Grayson Waller and Xavier Woods separately, so I'm glad he was able to avenge that loss to Kingston here. It was another quality contest from them with Penta being super over with the crowd per usual. Despite that, the feud will continue with Penta getting attacked backstage later on. Is that a sign we're finally getting The Lucha Brothers reuniting now that Fenix's last tag partner Andrade is gone from the company? CM Punk and AJ Lee Faced Off with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky LynchOn the whole, this was a super solid segment and effective as far as building toward the mixed tag team match at Wrestlepalooza, though it would've benefited from being slightly shorter. The mic work was strong for the most part and the key was that they established Lee's neck injury could be a factor come Saturday. Rollins and Lynch teasing tension only to reveal it was a ruse to outsmart Punk and Lee was well done. El Grande Americano def. Dragon LeeAlthough this was a nice sprint from these two, it was very much more of the same. Americano/Ludwig Kaiser is talented, as is Lee. Is doing more with them beyond having them face each other constantly too much to ask of WWE? What's worse is the constant interference from the other masked men, who are clearly New Catch Republic. And there's zero progression. This storyline desperately needs to move along. Stephanie Vaquer def. Kairi SaneThis may have been the best bout on the whole show. Vaquer has been out of the ring for well over a month, so I was happy to see her in action again before she faces IYO SKY for the Women's World Championship at Wrestlepalooza. Plus, we were reminded of what Sane can do on her own as well. This was great stuff, and there was more tension with SKY and Asuka afterward. The Vision (Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker) def. Jimmy Uso and LA KnightAnother week, another Vision main event also involving Knight. It's gotten tired, but I fear that Knight's next move might be turning heel and feuding with Jey Uso. And that won't end well for him. This was a fairly standard tag team main event with a bit of an abrupt finish. No, Knight attacking Jey afterward wasn't a definitive heel turn, but that could be the direction WWE is headed in with him as I mentioned. Overall ShowI probably enjoyed this edition of Raw more than most because I was there in attendance, but I still thought it was a good show for what it was, especially when it came to promoting Wrestlepalooza. It peaked early with Cena's appearance, but there was some average action throughout the night as well. The earlier start time was a welcome bonus. Thanks, football!
