Penta Attacked The Judgment DayIt was super smart to start the show with a promo from Penta to send the message that WWE intends to feature him more prominently from this point forward. He outright said he wants a rematch with Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship, so hopefully that actually happens eventually. I have no desire to see him feuding with Judgment Day again, but his interaction with them here did play into the main event. Roxanne Perez def. IYO SKY and AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina in a Triple Threat Match to Qualify for the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match (Non-Title)Perez pretty much had to win here. I like Sky, but she has no need for the Money in the Bank briefcase, and as impressive as La Catalina is, she's a AAA star who just won the Reina de Reinas Championship. Perez qualifying was the first step. Now she actually has to take home the contract come Money in the Bank. This was a well-wrestled Triple Threat that the crowd should have been more into. LA Knight Addressed World Heavyweight Champion Roman ReignsAlthough this wasn't Knight's most memorable promo ever, I really dug the material, especially when he mentioned how Reigns has been winning most of his matches this year without any help and how he doesn't think the fans truly believe he can beat him. This feels like the best chance Knight has ever had of winning the world title, and this served as effective build for their bout. Je'Von Evans def. World Tag Team Champion Bron Breakker by DisqualificationEvans smacked Breakker across the face backstage before the bout. Both of these guys have qualified for the men's Money in the Bank Ladder match, so this served as a small preview of that. This was a nice match up until the non-finish, which led to The Vision attacking Evans and Oba Femi making the save. I'd have no issue with Evans and Femi joining forces against The Vision, but Femi has been his own man since arriving on the main roster, so I'm not sure how likely that is. The Judgment Day, Becky Lynch and Women's World Champion Stephanie Vaquer Interrupted Each OtherI could've done without Judgment Day being all over this show, but I did like how we heard from the other members here for a change and not just Liv Morgan. Interestingly, Mysterio didn't cut a promo (at least not in this segment) and he came off like an afterthought as a result. Meanwhile, Vaquer had one of her better nights on the mic that I can remember and Lynch also played her role well. A Triple Threat for the Women's World Championship wasn't formally announced, but it was heavily implied by Vaquer. Hopefully it gets added to Money in the Bank. Lyra Valkyria def. BayleyIt's disappointing how quiet the crowd was for this. That said, I can't say I'm shocked considering how badly Valkyria was booked in Bayley's absence. This was very well wrestled, but it felt like it had no heat. On the bright side, I appreciate that Valkyria beat Bayley for a second straight time, albeit by cheating. That keeps the feud alive. Ideally, Valkyria should beat her every time, but I know Bayley's bound to get her win back eventually. Roxanne Perez Crashed Lola Vice's Raw Contract SigningWait, in kayfabe, Vice wasn't already signed to the Raw roster before she competed in that Money in the Bank qualifier last week? That aside, this was a solid segment. Vice still needs to work on her mic skills, but she won't improve unless she's given more opportunities to talk like she was here. Having Perez interrupt her made sense since they're both in the women's Money in the Bank Ladder match. Penta def. Dominik Mysterio and Dragon Lee in a Triple Threat Match to Qualify for the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder MatchSolo Sikoa was supposed to take part in this Triple Threat before he was attacked and abducted by The 946, so Adam Pearce introduced Penta as his last-minute replacement. Even with the change, it wasn't obvious he was winning given Mysterio has been a heavy favorite to quality as well. This was an awesome main event with a wonderful pace and a hot crowd. Overall ShowProps to WWE for capitalizing on Penta's momentum from Mexico City last week by making him the focal point of this episode. This San Antonio crowd sat on their hands for most of the night, but there was more of an effort than usual to spotlight the newer names. The build for Money in the Bank was also well done. It was always going to pale in comparison to last week, but the structure was strong and nothing felt like filler.
