NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion "Thrillbilly" Silas Mason def. Bryan Idol in a No Limits MatchThe graphic called this as a No Limits match, it was announced as a No Disqualification Anything Goes match, and at one point a few weeks ago they were billing it as a Falls Count Anywhere match. All the stipulations are the same, so I suppose it didn't matter. At any rate, this was honestly underwhelming. What we got was good, but it was too short for what was supposed to a big time world championship clash. Hayden Backlund def. Cristiano Argento and Will Austin in an NWA National Championship No. 1 Contender's Three-Way Match; NWA National Champion Mike Mondo def. BacklundThe commentators called this a "Gut Check" match (not to be confused with the old TNA concept) with the winner earning an immediate shot at the National title. Not only was I surprised Argento didn't win since he's the most established of the three involved, I was also surprised he was the one who ate the loss. It was a fine three-way, albeit brief. The same can be said about the subsequent title match between Mondo and Backlund. NWA United States Tag Team Champions The Slime Ballz Confronted Mims and Da PopeMims and Pope taking part in the Crockett Cup makes sense, and as we found out, they'll be facing Slime Ballz in the opening round. Although Slime Ballz are the reigning United States Tag Team champs, there's no guarantee they'll advance even past the opening round. In fact, I'd prefer to see them win. Personally, this segment didn't do much for me, but at least it hyped an upcoming match. NWA World Women's Tag Team Champions The Hex def. TVMAWe've seen these teams have a few matches at this point, and none of them have been anything out of the ordinary, but I'm glad the women's tag titles are being defended and this got TVMA's rematch out of the way. It was adequate. Will Tiffany Nieves being pinned lead to her having defend the NWA Women's Television Championship against Allysin Kay? Probably not. NWA World Women's Champion Natalia Markova def. LiviyahLiviyah cut a pretty decent pre-taped promo earlier in the show. I also thought she had a solid showing here, even though there was virtually no chance of her upsetting Markova and taking the title. Despite that, they had a nice match and I appreciated seeing the NWA World Women's Championship showcased in the main event for a change. TVMA attacked the two of them afterward, so Nieves will likely be setting her sights on Markova's title. Overall ShowThis was a fairly significant edition of Powerrr with two major title matches in the main event and in the opener and two other acceptable title matches. Throw in some hype for the Crockett Cup and it was a thumbs-up episode with everything seemingly serving a purpose. Thom Latimer and El Dragon Nihan vs. Carson Bartholomew Drake and Aron Stevens in a Crockett Cup opening round match was advertised for next week.

I was also really disappointed by Silas vs Idol. I'm sure there's no universe where it was going to be a 5 star classic, but I wanted to see it go 15+ with some nearfalls and them getting a bit more out of the stip. If I had gone into this never seeing this before, I'd never guess Idol had to survive 7 defenses to get there because they didn't treat him as a real threat.

Yeah, it felt like they just wanted to get it over with for some reason. Very strange. All that buildup for Idol, only for him to get beat in uneventful fashion. I don't expect the NWA's world title matches to be anything special at this point like you said, but this one was especially underwhelming.
