Knox and Murdoch def. Kill City CupKill City Cup wasn't actually the name of the team but rather the movie they appeared in/represented. The commentators mentioned the names of the two individuals, but I couldn't make them out clearly. It doesn't matter that much considering Knox and Murdoch beat them decisively and quickly. We heard from Murdoch a little later on with Aron Stevens, but this kept the team's momentum going. NWA National Champion Thom Latimer def. "Thrillbilly" Silas Mason by DisqualificationMason previously held the NWA National Championship and relinquished it to challenge for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship, so it made sense for Mason to set his sights on the title he was never defeated for. He and Latimer were having a pretty good match up until the disqualification, so the non-finish gives me hope there will be a rematch. Latimer hasn't exactly been lighting the world on fire as National champ, so I'd have no issue with him losing the belt back to Mason. Kyle Davis Interviewed Billy Corgan and Rush FreemanI was wondering why Brady Pierce was back with The Spectaculars, and now we know why. Corgan that he was written a letter claiming to be from Freeman allowing Pierce back into The Spectaculars in his absence. Freeman confirmed he had to take time off for personal reasons but denied that he wrote the letter. I appreciated the explanation and it's an intriguing development. Kyle Davis Interviewed Trevor Murdoch and Aron StevensI don't know why this had to be saved for later in the show as opposed to happening right after the match Knox and Murdoch had earlier, but that's merely nitpicking. The actual exchange was decent. Murdoch established that he and Mike Knox still want the NWA World Tag Team Championship held by Blunt Force Trauma and Stevens brought up the many times they've lost. Is the NWA's tag team division that shallow that no other teams can compete for the tag titles? NWA World Women's Tag Team Champions The King Bees def. Ruthie Jay and La Rosa NegraProps to the NWA for doing more with their women's tag titles than WWE has in recent years. I know WWE set the bar fairly low, but the NWA World Women's Tag Team Championship is defended more than I'd expect them to be. The match itself was solid with all four women putting forth an admirable effort. Even with the babyface vs. babyface dynamic, it was a fun main event. Overall ShowWe got two title matches this week, so that made the show somewhat newsworthy despite neither championship changing hands. The women taking center stage in the main event was cool, the opener accomplished what it needed to, and I enjoyed Latimer vs. Mason while it lasted. The two interview segments also served a purpose. This was a thumbs-up edition of Powerrr.
