Pretty Empowered Accepted The Country Gentlemen's ChallengeThis played into the territory wars that have been going on. It was easy enough to follow, even though it's not a story I've been all that invested in. Are we supposed to take Pretty Empowered as a serious threat to Country Gentlemen? I assume shenanigans are in store to even the playing field. On the bright side, Powerrr opening with the occasional talking segment is a refreshing change of pace. Alex Misery def. Joe Bravo and Daisy Kill in a Three-Way MatchThere wasn't anything on the line here, but I assume the implication is that the winner could be next in line for a shot at the NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship. This was Bravo's debut and I thought he fared well for himself with a solid showing. This was a well-worked three-way and Misery winning was the right call since he's the best in the ring of those involved. The Holy Grail def. The DrakesHoly Grail and The Drakes exchanged words in various vignettes coming into this contest. Neither team does much for me, personally, nor am I sure who viewers are supposed to be rooting for, but at least it's something of a story. This was a decent match. We'll see if the rivalry continues and if The Drakes eventually bounce back, or if their partnership is meant to be short-lived. NWA Women's Television Champion Tiffany Nieves def. Clara CarterNieves deserves credit for being a fighting champion since capturing the NWA Women's Television Championship. These title defenses haven't been barn burners by any means, especially with them being so short, but the wins are boosting her credibility, along with the vignettes she appears in most weeks, so it will mean something when she's inevitably beaten for the belt. Mims def. Da PopeAs I've said before, I appreciate how this bout has been built up over the last month or two. It made this match much more meaningful. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary from an in-ring standpoint, but they successfully told a story. I liked that Mims won, albeit by nefarious means. That keeps the feud alive and gives Mims a rebound win after losing the NWA National Championship. Overall ShowNWA is doing a better job of furthering storylines from week to week, whether it be through matches, vignettes and now in-ring promos. Although nothing stood out as special, mostly everything we got served a purpose and the show flowed nicely, making for an adequate edition of Powerrr on the whole when it would have been easy for them to phone it in during a holiday week.
